Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I didn't go to HOF last night, mostly since I'm gonna be there on Sunday. The cabs are "Dictator" it's the new emperor cabs brand. Emperor is done as far as I've heard. The guy who knew what he was doing with cabs and amps has decided to keep going under the dictator name.

Well that's good to know, I've always like their builds and the cabs I heard last night sounded killer, their was also three unmarked heads to, I'm assuming they were dictator, one bass head about the size of a svt paired with a svt, and Matt pike had two Marshall style unmarked heads

Finally happy with my nano board. If you told me a month ago the thing I was missing was a phaser I would've laughed at you.

I hate going to the movies especially when a movie has just been released. Our cinemas are full of obnoxious wankers who sit wherever they like and talk throughout the majority of the films. Not to mention how expensive they are...the ticket alone costs about $25 for an adult and a regular popcorn/coke combo sets you back another $20. Times that by two and I'm looking at close to $100 for a movie date with ****** snacks.

Nah, I prefer watching a movie at home if it happens to be on TV. I'm not big on films so I'm easy to please. If I do watch anything, I enjoy watching older flicks more than newer ones - especially blockbusters. None of these newer films will do it for me like Jurassic Park and the original Men In Black did back as a kid.

And on the topic of rides, I hate rollercoasters and everything associated with them ever since I got stranded on one for two hours. **** rides, **** slides and especially **** rollercoasters.
$25?

Holy poopie. I went to the movies last week with friends, and the ticket was $10, as I recall.

Last night was awesome, was acting like a total tourist in Chicago, went to kumas corner for the first time and got the church of misery burger, and girl go that you burger, me and my buddy brad went to every bar on division street looking for the three Floyd's razor hoof ale, could not find it anywhere. But I did try a Belgium quad ale that smashed me into the dirt 11.2%!

Asides from that high on fire played a ****ing greatest hits set practically touching on all albums, got to hear cometh Down Hessian live which made my year lol, also they were using cabs and head back lined I've never seen before maybe you Chicago guys have heard of it, its called "digator"? I think? Matt was using 3 4x12s and Jeff was using these two ported 4x10's, sounded pretty special!

In other news my band hit a brick wall two days ago, we've recently wrote two new 10 minute slammers and we planned to get together and agree on lyrics and new band name, we felt that the eternal dog mother had lost her spark and we few new ideas which I'll tell you all soon for opinions, but either way my second guitarist didn't show up and we were worried about him called him and found out he's most likely quiting the band to get a job at Ford because he just got his girl pregnant this news hit us in a strange way like congratulations on your child but a big part of wanted to be like you ****ing idiot.... Ugh so now were a three piece again and back to the drawing board, we were so close to recording!
I still love the kid and he's a very close friend but talk about taking that unexpected fork In the road.

Also riffin roarin Randall is almost complete, need to find the right size washed to hold my input jack in place!
Why not just call him a shaging idiot if he's not going to be in the band anymore, anyway?

Interesting. I would have gone with Imperator, but okay. I wonder if they'll be more consistent on bass cabs than I'd heard?

Maybe I can figure out how to use the damn digital recorded I got for my birthday and then make a clip somehow. I should mail it to Corey that woukd be easier and better then my hack playing lol. It does what I wanted it to do, old school single coil p sounds with very non-muddy sounding mudbucker, and both on together is great very deep but punchy. Bullock pickups did a great job matching the single coil to the output of the Dimarzio.

Put together a swingset for my daughter today. Damn it just feels good to build stuff again. It's been a while since I had the chance.
Used some psychology on the Mrs. to get a new cordless drill too. I sent her to home depot to pick one up for me.
Although it backfired when she came home with an impact driver and like a 4 year extended warranty. Couldn't say anything then without looking like an ass.
Still it drive screws like nobody's business.:D

So the guitard of FM more than likely sold his amp to pay his rent, he mentioned listing it earlier this week and its not in my practice space anymore...now he doesnt have an amp and haven't heard from him in a week. Its not like I'm going to go out of my way to schedule band practice for a band that isnt my creative child, I just show up and play the bass. Every day we get closer to DOTD and we dont get ready is just a day closer to VEGA playing DOTD. Which to be completely honesty is how I wish it would go, VEGA would put on a better show.

Well this is mad. Just got called in to work at 1:30am because apparently one of the residents passed away, the staff member who found the resident freaked the shag out and left the building entirely. The other night shift staff called me up also in a panic because she didn't know what to do about the AWOL staff member. I tell her to worry about the body first and make sure its tucked in bed and to call the resident's family ASAP of their death.

I drive to work in the rain, get inside the building and start asking questions. All the lady could tell me was that the other staff member saw the body on the floor, told her about it, they both walked back in to where they found the body, they turned the body on its side and then the staff member split. I'm assuming she couldn't handle seeing a dead body...which isn't gonna do you much good working in aged care. Unfortunately she didn't say where she went but she simply disappeared.

It gets better. I ask her if they were able to put the body back on the bed. "No, I couldn't do it myself". MMAAADDDDDDD! So I helped lift the body back onto the bed and tucked it in.

At this point I'm wondering "Why the hell did she call me and not the care manager? I'm just HR". So I ask her. She says that she thought it was a "Staff issue" because one of the staff members went AWOL. She's not wrong but FFS you'd think a corpse would be the first thing you'd be worried about and, secondly, that it would be the Care Manager's call not mine.

Anyway, now I'm here waiting for the Care Manager to show up so I can explain the situation. I've tried calling the AWOL staff member about 40 times now but she's not replying. Have a feeling that's the last we'll be seeing of her so I'm gonna start preparing her termination while I wait and then give her another call in the morning.

Mondays are maaddddd.
