Band drama averted.
We might be taking a month or two off to get our drummer's head straight, but that's just general overworking.
Went to Mastodon show tonight. Kinda weird they chose to play 1000+ venue without PA. Only drums and vocals went thru PA. Bass was inaudible. They played pretty awesome show, though.

Sure. But when ran with a comp it just sounded like doo doo. That was a minor issue to me as dirt in general is hit or miss with a comp IMO. The fizz and stacking did it in though.

That's the thing with dirt, is that it is in and of itself also compression. So that's why running it with compression can be tricky.

I don't use a compressor, as my amp is pretty much always overdriven and so is compressing things anyway.

We're renovating the space now and hoping to move in by the end of September. Also, there's been 2 murders on the next block in the past week. One early last week and one last night. There's another problem.

If you actually hit that target, it might be a problem with human biology. Frequencies ~18hz are inaudible but still felt and affect the subconscious. There's a phenomenon where frequencies around that range can induce instinctive feelings of dread and terror in humans. The explanation for why this is relates to that same frequency range being around the lowest frequency of the growl of big cat predators like leopards, tigers, etc. Many supposed hauntings often turn out to be old pipes resonating with drafts at about this frequency.

Thanks for the reminder/confirmation. I really tried to love that pedal... Still think a RAT would be fun, but haven't found one that works on bass. Love my cheap Eno RAT clone on guitar, but bass just doesn't work.

The long awaited Sunbather preamp arrived.

Due to see the Trace V4 at my doorstep Wednesday hopefully before practice!

Wedding Gig was fun. Paid well.

Too compressed, I guess? Of course I don't run dirt pedals. To me they usually just sound like imitations of something my amp already does. I do run fuzz pedals occasionally, though.
