We may, but we dont want to be forced to make japanese esque music, and pigeon hole ourselves. Its a name that represents regal power and perfection of craft. Thats why we called ourselves Shogun.

The Day of Wreckoning listing in Maximum Ink Magazine had you guys down as "Shotgun". As a former member of 'Merican it made me laugh.
Maybe there was a DI, haven't seen no mics on cabs.
The sound was pretty bad overall.
ODB was tempting but I already have the BDPG and Gamma drive so I passed there.
Funny that I'm not even using drive pedals any more.
Been using the HSD as primary and on one passage of a song kicking in the DSOMD to add some girth.
Have not had the chance to mess with the Sunbather yet. Way too busy.
May just be for home use if the Trace works as I hope.

was it at the studio you were at? Is it supposed to not need much post production because it records what you hear/and you should like what you hear?

yeah the studio did not have one. I was hoping it was something more common but apparently it's not. It would be great for a live off the floor recording which is what we were going for. The final product is still relatively raw and live sounding but doesn't have the imaging of what Fritz is capable of.
There was someone here, I think whose band was Mariana (after the trench), but kept getting listed as marinara.
Yeah - it's a low-rent local newsprint music rag, no one works on it full time so I can forgive a few typos. They have an exhaustive listing of live music in the area which is really nice to have.
Very few people have a Fritz at their disposal. The company I work for sells a couple units a year simply because we're the only ones in the country that keep them in stock.

Once upon a time there was quite a bit of talk on the TapeOp message board about DIY binaural head type mics. Usually people just buy relatively inexpensive but decent quality omni capsules and put them in a foam headform or sometimes something less sophisticated than that. I have zero clue how useful that actually is for anything beyond reference. In my experience trying to record something that sounds "real" usually equates to something that sounds kind of bad, as the full in person human listening experience is really subjective and highly cognitively filtered by perception. Like how showing someone something that was photographed "how the human eye sees" is usually really disorienting and weird.
agreed, for music i think the technique would need to be used artistically to enhance the performance in spots where it makes sense to do so.
