Naseua inducing settings with the 810 and the Folded 18...or single 810 pummeling settings

On the not nearly as loud side

I need to get some tube amps and cabs up and running and sold. Gonna sell off the valveking combo and the blue voodoo, it wouldn't bias, but got a tube depot bias kit to build and figure out.

I'll keep my silvertone vibrochamp clone (5w) and my pignose mini vtm45 clone (60w). Them, the Rockmaster (120w) and gk 400rb (200w) a solid group of amps. All together probably cost at MOST $350.

My money hole is vast and deep. But... I have no kids and my gear is my only debt. When I worry about it I just stare at my wall, plug in to anything and suddenly it all becomes well worth it.

Random question: what's the difference between speaker cables and instrument cables? Are the speaker ones just higher gauge? Is that it? Or is something else happening?

And I know you shouldn't use instrument cables as speaker cables, but is the opposite also true?
No expert but I think you're right about the gauge. The thicker gauge can carry higher current, some old sound guy told me that you can melt a regular instrument cable on a high powered rig.

I know instrument cables are shielded and speaker cables aren't so I'd assume that a speaker cable used as an instrument cable would be noisy.

The wire gauges are larger for speaker cable.
Instrument cables are like co-axle cables where the sleeve wire covers the tip wire to reject noise by shunting it to ground.
Not a problem with speaker cables because the noise is minute and only noticed with an instrument cable because it then runs through an amp to increase its volume.

You could always try out mine!
But good luck finding a BTA 400 in the wild. I bought the only one ive ever seen stateside! The 300pros pop up regularly for real reasonable prices. Best amp ever!

When I placed my order for dually 2 I was at a legitimate crossroad. MF had one single blonde/oxblood that was open box on clearance for like $1450 or something close to it. My heart said fender, but my brain told me to get my cabinet game on point and let fate lead the way to big tubes. I'm very happy the way my rig came together but I won't lie, a blonde SB300 would probably have been the coolest modern production amp that I could have potentially owned but didn't.

That or the white custom '69 spec SVT VR that was part of the Rolling Stones (which mostly became QOTSA)backline that sold on eBay about 9 months ago for like $1300. Actually I think it went for around $1500, but still...

The teaser was MF having white 100T and matching 410neo cabs available for a min. Passed and kick myself.
Yes
Would have to get covers for them regardless. White would be tough to keep up.

Still see so many SVT backlines on live/youtube. Who is really pushing the SB300 or 100T on the road?

I tend to write fairly legato and melodic rhythms, but it seems like my guitar player wants to be all thrashy with super fast guitar riffs all over the place. What do stoner/doom bassists do with guitar players like this? Feed him pot brownies?

I embrace the thrash for a few tunes. Variety is good. Not every tune has to be a 37 minute dirge.

Just go with it. I write fast riffs on guitar, slow in bass. No idea why, but that's how it is. My band and I just give it all a shot as we like lots of varieties of heavy.
