Indeed I am. They released a new album recently. I need to hear it.
Saw them in Pittsburgh one night, the opening band was SuperVoid, the band that one of the old timers here played in.
time travelling blues is good. big black is a classic. the rest is pretty forgettable for me. especially everything after coup.
Now, listen here, son. I'm only gonna tell you once, and it's for your own good....
Honestly it's very easy to play. Had a short scale longhorn for a while and I couldn't switch between that and long scale basses and play competently. With this bass it's exactly the same as long scale with a capo on the first fret.
Love them. They're a great show, though I'm with @bassboysam some of their albums are samey.
not only samey but they tried to get more metal on later albums and it is just not that good. one of the few bands where i prefer the two guitar setup. when they went to one guitar it just was kind of meh.
Orange Goblin never did anything for me. On paper, they should be right up my alley. But they are meh to me.
Some people say “samey”, but I think of it as a band’s style. I like many styles of heavy, so if I want something different, I listen to a different band. I don’t necessarily want bands to change (not that I want them to put out the same album for decades, either), but I don’t mind a specific, recognizable, and distinct sound from each group.
I guess what I’m really saying is that if I like the group’s style, “samey” is not a bad thing to me. I like wheat beer, and some is better than others, but they’re all pretty good to me!
Same here, I mean I'll listen to it and some of the older stuff was good.
Like Rage or Tool, AC/DC too. I love those bands and you could not mistake one of their songs being someone else's the first time you hear it.
Orange Goblin was mentioned. I’m speaking more generally. There are plenty of bands who just have a specific sound their entire career that are incredibly successful. “Samey” isn’t necessarily a bad thing for them. It’s not a negative for me either, assuming I like that style.
First gig with the II last night and it sounded great. I got a bit antsy when the sound guy wanted to use the d.i. Instead of micing the cab but honestly it sounded much better than I thought it would (especially reading the recent thread)
