Ive never joined the fb group because at the time i didnt use facebook, as such i can not attest to the activity level of that group.

As for why a bunch of the regulars left back then. I think it was that someone went and riled up the praise and worship thread, who came back to here and reported a bunch of the posts that were toeing the lines as far as rules were concerned. An admin did a big purge and some people got banned. Then they decided to go and make a fb group to try to avoid censorship. Its been quite a while since that happenned though. I didnt leave, but i did stop paying for a supporting membership and havent payed since.

What I mean is when I go to the TB page on FB there aren't that many posts, and they are all by the site, not by users. Or that's just what I see.
I dunno. FBs concept of groups was never that great. It is very one way. Works great for bands to tell people stuff, but terrible for fostering discussions.
I don't understand Instagram. Its just pictures and a blurb. No real communication. It seems like twitter is just a dumping ground for people's anger.
So much for the great promise of the internet.

What wah pedals are you guys using? I was in a studio last weekend and had an issue with my Morley BH because of the second delay after coming off the pedal. I like the way the bh gives a volume boost and a lil higher pitch it cuts through well. I hate Dunlop wah’s Especially the one they made for bass. I prefer the pedals that engage right when you step on them.

i though you were referring to the secret society of s/d bassists page not the TB FB page. that's where you will find most of the people who left TB.

You mean the ones that auto engage without hitting a switch?

I believe both the regular and mini crybaby bass wahs operate that way now. Not sure how long they did the footswitch ones.

TBH I prefer the footswitch one, love using cocked wah tones. I don't mind having to push the toe down to activate, but I'm not a fan of the volume drop mine has.

I think the geezer wah (Dunlop) engages as soon as you step on it. Haven't played one, but the reviews I've read say that it's voiced more in the mid-range to give you more cut in a mix. You should also check videos of the G-Lab Bass Wowee Wah - it sounds great and give you the option of switch and touch engage...

thats sounds like something I would like to find; the praise presence here on TB is a little much for me. I hate facebook but might be able to make it work in order to talk bass with some like minded folks.

Honestly ive found it to be very versatile. Personally ive always preferred it on guitar as ive found it to be a little wooly on bass. I like a grindy bright clanky distortion on bass. You might be able to get there with the QM as its tone controls seem to have a wide range, but i found my holy grail in the Dunwich Volt Thrower for bass distortion and havent tried too hard on the QM. If you like a little more fuzzy kind of bass distortion you might really like the QM.

I’m a grindy kinda bass distortion cat myself. That’s why I dig the old growth fuzz.

I only have one bass at the moment and am looking for a decent sub 500$ fourstring. There an aerodyne local to me for what I’m able to pay. Was wondering if any of y’all have/had one and if it doomed. Play in C standard
