Which one? I bought one with a cherry finish that looks sweet. $25 because it was “broken”. I soldered the output back together and it works perfectly. Great score!

I have a charvel LP copy as well. It's one of the DS' just not sure which. Has a Tung oiled set neck. Nicest feeling neck I've played...
I like fender guitars, but mostly their offset and their black sheep ones like the toronado and jazzmaster. Always been a huge fan of firebirds though. SG's look great, just never tried one yet.

First practice with the orange. It sounded great by itself and much more cutting in the mix which is what i wanted, but with the loucks pushing some wooly low end the guitar tone became massive. Ill be running them in stereo for now. May change my mind later.
Anybody know why when I disengage the pad from my amp, my Pork Loin actually lowers the volume of the amp? All of my other dirt pedals stay the same relative volume, but the PL has to be cranked more, and that makes my filter all wonky...
I have been A/Bing the Pork Loin and VMT. Both get similar tones, but the VMT doesn’t have this problem. I think I prefer the PL ever so slightly, however. Dang gear issues.

That's weird, I've never experienced that before...not sure how pads work, don't they reduce impedance? Or is it gain? Is that the only variable being changed?
Did a partial listen through on the first two. Sounded great, vocals too. I think I'm gonna be working in the garage today so I'll hopefully get to listen through. Really dig the feel though.

Only variable! It’s the active/passive switch. I usually run “active” with it’s 15dB cut since I don’t need the volume. But when I recently redid my gain stages, I found I would need that volume occasionally. But then I have to tweak my Pork Loin. And only my Pork Loin. Which then makes it not work with my filter...
All of these pedals are in front of the amp, so I had assumed they would stay relatively close in volume when I changed the pad setting. Not so.
I also just found that my “mute” button doesn’t entirely mute the signal. It lets a tiny bit pass when I have my fuzz and filter on, with the pad off. Only that combo makes noise. Not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be, or if maybe a component is going bad and it’s affecting both things. It’s a 700RB-II.
Nice setup, I sold my Rockerverb after getting a custom OR/Matamp style Hovercraft caribou. Don't think I have really heard the Loucks, most people seem to snag the Skyhammer.
Supposedly the loucks is kind of like a Sunn model T. Ive never gotten to compare them so Im not 100% sure. To me its very fender bassman and is a very dark amp. Its definately lower gain than the skyhammer.
I debated about going full oldschool matamp or hovercraft, but in the end i decided i wanted the option of getting some more modern metal tones if the need arose and decided on the rockerverb for it. So far im loving it. And the blend of the two gives me some oldschool saggy overdrive and some more modern crunchy low end and the matamp/orange kind of fuzzy mid highs. Kind of a best of both worlds to me.
That's odd, maybe there's something wrong with the circuit. I don't know a lot about electronics...

Wonder if changing the pad setting changes the resistance of the input? IS the pad something you engage/disengage often? I agree its a weird issue, but since its incredibly rare for me to even tough the pad on my amps, it wouldn't be an issue, if that makes sense?
Listened through. Is black philip a reference to the movie VVitch? I just watched that with my brother recently. Really dig the instrumentals. Lots of gross tones and fun riffs.
In the past, no. I’m trying to tweak my rig to make sure all I have to touch is the woofer or boost to get my volume needs met. Volume, even at 10, seemed a little much. I’ll keep experimenting.
Do you have a buffered pedal you could put after the pedal in question?

Yeah id place it after the pork loin before thale amp. Its more of an experiment than a tutorial with the question of if its a problem with impedence and whether the buffer could fix that
I’ll have to try tomorrow. Maybe I’ll just move my Boss tuner there or something. Right now I am using my VMT, which has none of these issues, but I’m not sure how I feel about it in the mix. The PL and VMT are close, but I think I like PL slightly better.
