Unfortunately I received a peavey centurion pa head instead. That was a real bummer. The manager said they got the listings confused and that the alpha bass sold weeks prior. Ended up going with an rb800 not too shabby works great as a back up to my SVT II np. But man, 250$ I’d take another shot at it if I could.

Better hurry, I'm fighting the urge. Lol. Even though I don't need it or really eant it per se. But $250 for a tube head is stupid cheap.....

I keep telling myself that I need to spend more time learning guitar for the same reason. I also get tired of being treated like $#!+ as "just the bass player" and so I can be...you know...heard. The mentality is so different and the neck so uncomfortable, that is really hard for me to stick with. I don't understand solos at all. I think part of it is that even if I learn guitar, I still don't have a drummer. That is something I know I can't play.

Luckily i found a drummer that i get along with has the same tastes in music. I got real lucky finding a drummer into the same stuff as me. But finding a guitarist around here interested in slower heavy music has proved to be difficult

Been listening to the new CONAN album. Very aggressive. I dig it quite a bit. They do a really short almost grindcore-esque tune ("Paincantation"), their most melodic with "Amidst the Infinite" and spaciest (the closer, "Eternal Silent Legend") Don't worry, no one's going to confuse it for anyone but them. Overall, it is very much in their usual comfort zone. Nice to hear them edge a little out of their box.

All in all, another pissed off record about swinging axes and poopie. Recommended.

That's rad dude, those guys are awesome. Never had a chance to see em live.

Definitely gotta check out the Conan album.

Being a bassist transplanted to guitar is such a struggle because i want that bass tone but now i gotta try to fit my guitar sound around it. I care way more about the mix than i used to. Hopefully it leads to a better overall sound for the band.

I almost put down the cash for one, still want one bad and I think you're right about the attenuator. Definitely worth it IMO, one thing I like about using my 15w vox. Not too powerful to where I can't crank it and not be too loud. The sound of power tubes being pushed is hard to beat.

That's sick! I really dig custom and handpainted pedals. I'm a big fan of any kind of hand made art.

Just throwing this out there but you might be having trouble playing guitar because the string spacing is too small for you especially being used to bass. Maybe try one of the Agile wide neck Les Pauls, get a warmoth, or make a partscaster from one of these necks Big Lou Wide Nut Electric Guitars | Wide Neck Guitars for Bigger Players I have a big lou neck on a partscaster and its pretty great it made a huge difference in my guitar playing. Just throwing it out there but it made such a big difference for me I thought I might share that because it may help you.

I dont have one of those necks but when i was shopping for guitars both my accoustic and electric i tried to find ones with wider string spacing. It definately makes a difference, but in my experience it does make bar chords and the like a little harder.
