Not suggesting a greenboy. While I'd hate to pay for cab shipping across the world. I have to say my only interaction with the dually I had before buying, was listening to anything laz said had his dually running on. No one has much opportunity I think to demo unless they got bass playing friend in the area with one.

Was it wasp? Niff was playing with all those big old vintage Australian tube heads. I always wondered if building or contracting someone to build a cab or at least the shell in places where known gear is largely unavailable or unfeasible.

Digging the labella deep talking flats, I'd never used them before. The bass vi now has .95 E string which feels no different than the .85 other than round vs flat, but gives much better low end, but it still can easily get into that guitar like range of tone and sound great.

Tube overdrive with just the pre cranked sounds good, so I'm eager to get a better speaker and take it to my friends and see what kind of power tube nasty I can get.

I bought a greenboy and love it, but after learning more about cabs and dialing in what I want, I'd rather just build my own. Dually is great but gets dwarfed on stage by my guitarists AND keyboardists amps...I look like a little kid at a metal show. Really want to build something with more stature, like a 4x15. Weights not an issue with me.

I'm not worried about resale, so as long as it sounded good I'd be stoked. Take the time and do it right and you'll have a badass cab.

And if I didn't have any skills with the woods, and didn't have access to a Greenboy builder, an Ampeg 810 is a staple.

Lo-Pan guitarist rocks some huge guitar cabs turned sideways that aren't normal stackable 412s, so his rig is really tall. To compensate, the bassist puts his cab on top of his SVT road case. Could always do something like that. I get what you're saying about the Dually, but my single Dually is loud as ****. I can't imagine running a second one. My guitarists would need to run dual full stacks or something, and we're already loud as balls with one 412 each.

I'm not concerned with big rig looks. If a 1x8" was the louder better option I'd happily have it. Not very metal in that sense. I don't mind weight, but I like not taking up space.

I've thought about building a pedestal, or something, to raise it up a hair.

Even considered laying it on its side and raising it off the ground a bit.

****, it's one reason I built a head shell case for the orange. Just to give it a little size and weight...just don't like getting dwarfed on stage :crying::crying:

Man sometimes this size of cab talk reminds of watching a short guy I used to work with a big arse jacked up redneck pickup truck. He always wore cowboy boots and he would open the door then take a few steps and leap up and grab on a side door rail to swing his little body up there. Click click click click and swoosh then Vroom!!!

I can kind of see that. Part of me thinks you should just build a shell and put the Dually in it. ;)

I think it was husky 123 that has a dually and a bassic. It's a pretty big stack with an amp on top.
