Haha, you get a dually, and you get a dually, EVERYONE GETS A DUALLY!!!
If it were me in Australia (where everything is way more expensive) I'd look for something from Peavey or Hartke. I'm partial to 15" drivers and it seems like there's always 1x15" cabs for sale cheap (around here at least). A matched pair of those or a matched pair of 4x10s with the TB1000 should be loud enough for most projects unless your band is doing something crazy with multiple rigs.
Just make sure to check power handling, as older 15" drivers are usually rated pretty low.
The Dually plans aren't publicly available but I think JohnK gave pretty good detail into how he built his lightweight 2x15 designed for the Kappa Lites and Faitals.
Oh snap, now I find out Deltron 3030 is coming to Pittsburgh with Kid Koala! This is a happy Wednesday.
The movies aren't so great. The David Lynch one is visually very cool - great for a late night viewing - but the casting is god-awful, the acting is bad and they take some liberties with the story.
Definitely read the books. The first 4 are amazing, the last two are pretty good.
Oh right, I forgot Nick played a part in that as well. The guitarist from Gholas had one, and he does the Dunwich etchings, so that makes sense.
my dad is a huge dune fan, thinks the movie is abysmal. but its fun for sure, definitely a time piece from the early 80s, i love it, even tho i agree with all your comments haha.
See that would be nice, but I don't need any more volume and I'm not going to drag another half cab along just because of any aesthetic insecuritiesI do agree that the Dually looks pretty squatty on the backline, but all I care about is how it sounds. In the past I've had issues with 610s and such because my head is too far above the speakers, but that doesn't happen with the Dually.
Yeah, it's definitely a fun watch but that casting -
Kyle MacLachlan as Paul? No.
Dean Stockwell as Dr. Yueh? No.
Patrick Stewart as Gurney Hallack? **** no - in the books Gurney is a huge, scarred former slave / current warrior. Ron Perlman is closer to what the book describes, but not ugly enough.
Sting as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen? NO! Feyd, while young and handsome is a brutal, bloodthirsty psychopath - Sting couldn't pull it off - no matter how many pairs of metal underwear he went through.
The guy they got for the Baron Harkonnen was great - though not fat enough.
Isn't the dually 36" tall exactly?
Hey now, Sting was in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
I'm sure next you'll tell me all of Guy Ritchie's movies are terrible...
i sure will, outside of lockstock/snatch, his resume is pretty lame. i guess youre a big madonna fan?
