Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Haha, CL guy with the broken TS10 and Carbon Copy didn't care for my offer. I told him to try ebay, but seriously - the TS10 is all board-mounted plastic components with a ****** momentary switch and the Carbon Copy is all SMD...

Unless it was something simple the TS10 probably would have been a major re-house project with new case, pots, jacks and footswitch. As for the Carbon Copy - unless it had something simple like bad wiring to/from the PCB I wouldn't have been able to fix it at all.

I'm amazed at what people think they can get for broken stuff. I mean, if you don't know how to fix it you can either throw it in the trash, let it sit in a box for 10 years then throw it away, or you can make a few bucks off of it and move on.

Oh well, my Clone Theory will be here today and the last of the parts I'll need for the Bad Stone should be here on Saturday. Think I'll take that pedal money that I didn't spend and buy some beer... or maybe the EHX OD Glove or Soul Food...

Reminds me of people selling commodity used pedals at ridiculous prices 'round my parts. Used MT-2 for only $75? Uh, no.

Reverb.com is the worst for that kind of BS. I always see cool stuff on there, but seriously - you can't just put the word "RARE" in from of something and jack up the price.

RARE BOSS ODB-3!!! ONLY $149.00!!!!!!

There are some insane people on Reverb. I've sold some items on there, but I usually try to research my prices a little bit to see what things are going for and get a good listing.

Speaking of Reveb, NPD
I picked this up cheap on three, $45 shipped. Just the BYOC ESV Fuzz Face clone but has the bias knob. It is silicon, wanting to change to Germanium or add a switch to change back and forth from SIlicon to Germanium. I dig that bias knob for getting some sputtery sounds.

I would think that the high prices would actually help someone trying to sell something at a decent price. If there' s competing ads for the same product with a jacked up price that's going to drive people to your reasonably-priced listing.
