Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

You bought -25db right and said you wished you got the 15?

On a note you can't answer would -15db plugs also be ok for shooting too? This is probably a question Julian or toast would be more privy to.

Yes I have the -25db but will order some -15s soon.

do any of you guys use custom molds or does everyone use off the shelf stuff?

I got the molds a week ago. 2 practices so far went pretty well. First show with them tomorrow.

Can't stand earplugs, bought custom molded ones and still don't wear them, I just don't like how it changes the sound. I have a large LOUD rig for a reason, to be LOUD!!! I want to experience it in real life, unaltered, raw audio destruction through the earholes. Ive excepted the fact that I'm going to/already have hearing damage and even possible loss, that said outside of playing music or shows, like mowing, shooting, different things at work, I wear hearing protection.

my vocalist is the same way, he cant/wont wear them. hes surely going to or already has lost hearing for sure. i love the sound of loud rigs but i can only take it for small doses before my head really starts to hurt haha.

I used to be the same way, now i have significant hearing loss and tinnitus, I'm only 33 but my hearing is bad - started wearing earplugs before it got even worse.

My vintage Clone Theory pedal arrived this afternoon. It's a big box, 110V type - it's beat to **** and someone sanded off the artwork at some point. I opened it up and all the parts are there and still factory wired, no botched repairs or replacement parts to mess with, so that's a plus.

The only visible problem is the power cord, which is nearly broken off where it attaches to the chassis. That's an easy fix and i hope that's all that's wrong with it.

All in all not bad for 26 bucks. I'm thinking about having a decal made to replace the artwork, but i kinda like it how it is, too.

I'll post some pictures soon.

Yeah, same. I really like my ear plugs. Everything sounds basically the same, but not as loud (though you can tell that everything is, in fact, loud, because of the vibration of the air in the room).

I actually prefer doing vocals with ear plugs in. It's a lot easier to hear one's own voice that way.

It's raining gear at mi casa

Neck for black bass is here. Doesn't fit so Dremel is on the charger

A old guitar had re circulated into my possession. It's a 70's Cortez L6-s copy. It was owned by my guitarist when we first started electric machete. It has come into possession by my gear hoarding buddy. I don't own it and don't known of I will (after the Les Paul super score I show you :) ) but it's back in the family none the less.

Probably going to get a lot of flak for this post, I'm predicting from guys who will tell me that the OP should "forgive" and that "people change."

Except the stuff you are saying is completely wrong. I just got this from the US Justice Department website:

" Notably, the legal definition of sexually explicit conduct does not require that an image depict a child engaging in sexual activity."

The OP said the guy only got probation. If there were actual sex going on with a child and the judge didn't put this guy in prison then the judge needs to be disbarred.

I am not defending a sex offender and if it were me I would be out of the band because I wouldn't want my name coming up with this guy's because I am a teacher and that could be really bad for my career. However, this does not mean that the guy had any pictures of children having sex and I really hope he didn't because otherwise the justice system is beyond f'ed up.

Oh by the way the Justice Department website is that for issues of Child Pornography anyone under the age of 18 is considered a child. If the guy was 18 and his 17 year old girl friend gave him a picture, then he is in possession of child porn. The crux of the whole thing to me is that if this was something worse, they guy got convicted how on Earth would he only get probation?
