Got an excuse to use some fuzz after a long break. Went back and acquired this old warhorse. Anyone else ever try it? Sounds great with the Gate up.

In the full patch list, you can tag each patch with a letter. Then you can make a change in the config settings so that each press of the foot switch will just goto the next patch, so you can just flip from one song to the next.
The other thing that lots of people don't know is the LineSelector patch allows you to bypass all effects AFTER it.
So, if you had bass->(Effect A)->(Line Selector)->(Effect B)->(Effect C)->amp activating Line Selector would keep A always on and just toggle off B+C together.

Apropos to this, I’m trying to teach five 11 year olds to play D&D by breaking out my 1986 version of the old TSR redbox set. Sadly, the Keep on the Borderlands doesn’t hold up like I hoped.
In MNPLS, I’ve been digging on Twin Town Guitars. Willie’s American Guitars is kinda cool, but has seemed over curated the last few visits & I’m beginning to suspect there’s a password to get the real prices for the cool kids.
Sadly, not much of that holds up like I hoped. Computers are the best thing to happen to dice, ever. My brother still does roleplay gaming with dice, etc. After my first RPG on a computer, I pretty much decided I'd never roll a dice again. But, doing it on a computer does limit the human interaction element, which I appreciate, but don't entirely crave.

I'm not much of a drinker so I can's speak to the quality of their beer, but HammerHeart Brewing Company in/near Minneapolis is part-owned by Austin of Panopticon so you might want to consider stopping in there.

I actually don't like computer games like that, I mean I do but they're just not a substitute. You just have to find a group of people who blend well, ideally different enough to have a couple wildcards, a couple who are really into the RP aspect, and a great DM.. Take allt hat, and a good rules system (7th Sea, Dungeon) or a world (again, 7th Sea, or Shadowrun which transcends it's godawful rules) and I love it.

Looks like the same thing, but without the voicing switch. I wonder if the contour is the same thing. The voicing switch goes from mildly flat with high roll off to scooped. The thing that's awesome about it is how the center points for the EQ change based on the voice setting. The amp gets much darker and the high knob shifts much lower to my ears on the vintage setting. Here's my head:
Both are great features of the software. I wish you could map out a patch and have it labeled A,D,F for instance so you can go back to it without having to cycle through. I do use that feature with switching between a 2-3 pedal patch and bypass all three like having a looper. Really it's the only minor complaint. I would kill to have an expression out for it though. I'm tempted to inquire about it to some pedal mod people. I still may because honestly it does a phenomenal job and it would really open up the possibility of the pedal.
I agree entirely. Nothing quite replaces the human element. I used to have an ongoing Marvel RPG from the 80’s with a bunch of my buddies. I’ve started playing in a traditional metal band that covers maiden,Priest,dio, etc. Their original material sounds like the last couple of Metal Church albums or even Maidens more recent offerings. They tune to C Standard and have a modern metal tone. I have a standard P bass and a Ibanez blazer bass that sounds like my p bass cuz it basically is. I’m looking to try an active 5 string and with family vacay coming up I can’t spend a lot of dough. Was wondering if anyone is playing a schecter or LTD active fiver? Also looking at Ibanez.
I have two Ibanez active basses, a SR370F that is my main four string and a GWB35 that I just got that is shaping up to be an incredible bass. Both are fairly hifi when played clean and they sound better with effects like DG stuff vs muffs to my ears. Mine are both fretless which really changes the sort of voice of the basses have, all the other fretted ibbys have a wonderful amount of clank and grind vs the the punch and muwah I get with the fretted. Dude I'm seeing has a SR806 from like the late 90's and it sounds killer.
I've liked the tone of the active schecters I've played but I didn't like the feel of the bass as much.
Take my opinion with a huge grain of salt because I haven't been playing long and haven't tried a ton of options. I spent some time in a store one day trying some fivers, and the one I liked the best was a Dean Edge. I honestly liked it better than some much more expensive fivers they had (though I didn't try any Schecter fivers, I do own a Schecter four-string). After playing it for a while, I'm still happy enough with the Dean that I'm thinking my next five-string will be significantly more expensive...I don't see the need to upgrade to something that costs only 2x what the Dean cost me.
So anyway, maybe try out a Dean edge if you haven't already.
Any suggestions for things to check out in New Orleans? I’m going this weekend for my birthday. Any cool shops worth checking out?

Mic'd, but not all used. I have been fortunate enough to watch Sleep from back/side-stage on 2 occasions. Both times I was in-line with Al's row of amps. Both times, at least one of the mic'd cabs was not being used. Not that running (3) rigs isn't impressive enough, but the 4th and 5th rigs we're either dummies or backups or there for effect.
I don't remember seeing a lot of music shops. I was mostly in the French Quarter. Lots of good places to eat and get wasted.
Could it be that he has some sort of A/B switch to use the different rigs at different times? When I saw Om this year he was using an Ampeg rig and a Mesa rig, and he'd switch between them for various effects...I don't know if they were ever all on at once.
I mean, I'm sure he does some that but, there are definitely "mic'd" cabs not being used... they didnt even have speaker cables plugged in to them.
