I spruced up the synth rig today. Mmmmmm, glitches...

That’s not the 5E3 I was angling for....Well, I finally got some started on a bunch of pcbs I had kicking around here. got four enclosures painted the other day and just started populating these PCBs. Still a few random bits here and there left to go that I didn't have in my backstock so tomorrow is going to be a scavenger hunt for a bunch of resistors, caps and diodes.
2x GGG muff boards
3x 250 boards
1x random fuzz board i had laying around.
At least one of the ggg's and 250s are going to get smashed together into a box and has a home already... but the rest...? Not sure on them quite yet. A friend of mine who plays guitar might be snagging at least one of these but who knows. Dunno if any of the rest will be forsale or whatever quite yet. Weeee shall see.
I promise to make sound demos!
Liar.So you can help me with my dream of seeding life onto other planets?
Edit: I just realized that "seeding" might have some connotations I didn't intend. Rest assured, I don't mean it that way.
Anyways... While I'm awesome at my job and great and building -ish, here's stuff I can't do well.
For your viewing displeasure, here is a video of my terrible musicianship and some cool sounding distortion.
This is mostly the muff, sometimes into my pre-amp, other times bypassed. I also the muff into an X, into the pre-amp, also ran a green rhino into the muff and green rhino into the X. I also run the bass passive and active.
I didn't do a great job of recording settings or what was going on where, but i'm going to try to do that later.
One of the things i've noticed is the muff tends to play better when the bass preamp was bypassed and in passive mode, with the pickup set to single coil instead of series.
This was about all I could get done before the distraction of my partner and the kid being at home and in the same room got to be too much.
Props to anyone who can make it through all 13 minutes of me screwing around on a bass.
No it isn't, I'm totally estranged by that stuff. But if your heart's not in it,
let alone when I work on "luxury" cars. And you know I imagine the type of person who buys something like that. And he is someone I would punch in the face so HARD.
Your writing here reminds me of George Carlin's stand up routines. This is tragic, but sorry, i laughed a bitI'm a 3d modeler so the B.S. I deal with is like the idiot trends in car dwsign and making it cool like this or that competitor etc and all those ridiculous high-end gadgets like ambient lights on the doors that they take in all seriousness and please move this line 1mm higher and make it more dynamic. Which I could not care less. I don't even own a car LOL.
And the colleagues, jesus christ...Lots of "design school" hipsters and snob idiots whose only interest in life is cars and refurbishing their homes with "design" toilets, bidets, and taps and fittings
And design lamps, design kitchens, design alarm clocks, design cat litters, etc ect
I have to stay all day with headphones and music at 100dB on to prevent me from using a flamethrower when I hear all their unstoppable idiot "design" and "cars" smalltalk
I find this whole field grotesque, inherently leaning toward idiocy.
Because it's laughable indeed. Tragicomic. Carlin would have found something interesting to say about itYour writing here reminds me of George Carlin's stand up routines. This is tragic, but sorry, i laughed a bit

And in the end, I serve the little s##t in the f.ing Porsche. That should make me feel proud.

Got a new soldering setup. Pretty pumped about itView attachment 3551792

What's that huge PCB? What are you making?
Well, got it. Built in St. Louis, pretty great condition for as old as it is. Nice guy who sold it to me also works in IT, and his company uses my product. I was able to torture the wife and the cat for a minute so I could make sure it works, and it was pretty damn sweet.

Totally looks like it is!So, you're saying the cab is liable to teach my cat the basic tool usage necessary for its descendants to conquer spaceflight?

Slightly better picture, I haven't put heavier strings on it or anything yet because a friend of mine might be buying it for his girlfriend. If I sell it the money will go towards new pickups and tuners for my Yamaha.
