Right. Pretty similar actually. Especially in a live situation. I wouldn't say there is really any tonal difference when "clean". For some reason they handle pedals quite differently. Everything is a bit brighter and thinner through the Terror. Not a huge problem as a little tweaking at the pedal or the EQ of the head and all is well. But during a show, If I had to swap it, I wouldn't sound exactly right on stage. Pretty minor issue all things considered. Really minor now that all tours and festivals have been cancelled this year

Well if nothing else they look different. And different is cool.
Might have a line on a "dream" amp of mine, rare, hard to find and expensive. The tubes keep calling me and have for years...but this time the deal is about too good to be true.

totally with ya there, lol. I've been thinking more about picking up the higher end version of this bass sometime and I want to get a new ramp made for mine at some point.

To put it in better words, the one I have now I almost can't find a bad sound, in fact I'm not sure I've found one. It can be stupid simple or massively sculpting in tones. I think each eq point has something like +/-20dB of boost or cut.

I do admit I'm not sure if it has its own character like a GK or Ampeg, but it just sounds so good.
They were a low volume production years back, then became custom shop once they started building the regular models in China. New they were like $3500+ and used ones go for ~$2k+ most of the time I've seen them. Not too expensive I guess, but for me I just couldn't justify.

I just recently found out they have 200, 300, and 400w versions...I think the one I've found is 300w.
What I'm curious about is the preamp. It's the same as mine, so it would be able to blend between a SS and tube pre. I wonder what kind of effect that'll have.
I have a Peavey T-Max head and it has that feature too... At the beginning I was enthusiast about it but the more I tried combinations the more I grew the convintion that tubes alone sounded just too perfect to ruin themas you blend in more SS it starts to sound more poopie
SS channel is switched off now.
BTW playing with my amps again this Monday, after two f.ing months was the most powerful feeling ever. I almost cried with joy.
I’ve started looking for another envelope filter. Any thoughts on the Filter Twin? This far, my favorite has been the MXR Bass Envelope Filter. I like that it keeps the original dirty signal of my bass intact whereas other filters make everything sound the same, regardless of what I feed it. I run filter after dirt, so I prefer something that lets me hear the different dirt tones as well as the filter, and also doesn’t require tweaking for each different tone.
Some I’ve tried:
DOD FX25B - love the tone, hate the peakiness.
DOD FX25 - hard to dial in, peaky
DOD 440 Reissue - low end loss
Proton - made everything sound the same, high pitch “whoosh” background noise at preferred settings
SA BEF - Great for figuring out what kinds of filters I like, but too large and impractical for daily use.
I want to try:

Whatever meets my criteria
So, suggestions?
