I just signed on for $3300.00 worth of plumbing on my 108 year old house. Basically redoing everything on the ground level with new modern stuff. Had a water leak last summer that was a freaking disaster.

No gear for me for the rest of the year which sucks, but honestly I'm not anywhere near as good as I want to be so I'll just concentrate on getting better and continue learning to sight read better. I really like my rig even though most people in my area think Peavey sucks.

I'm not playing with anyone since the brothers that made up my last band moved back home to Colorado so they could legally smoke so it's not that big a deal, although I was hoping to work on my pedal board some.

I got a 4 year old daughter who lives with me and I can't let my house turn into a moldy damp dungeon. If it was just me I'd be in Colorado too. :cigar:

My house isn't that old but one option to look into is using PEX or an equivelent. It's plastic tubing instead of galvanized or copper pipe. Reduces the labor involved sweating copper. Crew came in in one day re plumbed my entire house for $2500 if I remember correctly. Only thing is making sure any ground wires tied to old pipe are relocated to the ground rod on the property.

No, not really. I mean, it's a big tourist destination, you can cycle around and go whale watching and kayaking and stuff like that. I grew up here, but now I'm only here a few months out of the year while I'm going to college out east. On the plus side, with nothing else to do, it certainly provides you with plenty of time to practice.

Ah I see. WA state is new to me. Been exploring the Kitsap peninsula (I dig) I really want to get more time for the Olympic mountains and hopefully Mt Rainier soon.
Where I'm from(the south) there is little change in elevation so mountains are a big trip for me.

So I finally got a bite on my "band wanted" ad. Got all excited...until I actually started talking to the guy. Turns out champo here wants to play AC/DC and classic rock covers with no intention of writing original stuff (despite my ad clearly stating I'm not interested in doing covers). He seemed like an OK guy over the phone but I got the impression he wasn't at all interested in what I was after and just wanted some guy to fill in bass for his band. Ended up giving him the ol' "Thanks but no thanks" line.

Square one, yes!

The "Hi-Tone" amps are the only hiwatt clones out there right now that are actually associated with Dave Reeves and his Family. My guitarist has met the guy who makes them a couple times, and said they're some of the nicest/best sounding amps he's run across. Dude, has owned pretty much every hitwatt and version of said hiwatt to ever be made, and has been building exact copies of the OG amps for years now. (Reeves amps has nothing to do with dave reeves or his family, there's a small disclaimer on their site apparently)

My other friend just got 2 of this DR201's for guitar amps in his band. Haven't heard them yet, but apparently they're pretty loud.

Morning fellas - knee deep in an early Flaming Lips kick - Hit to Death in the Future Head now, Transmissions From the Satellite Heart up next, then Clouds Taste Metallic. Helps take the edge off the endless excel spreadsheets.

Also, since Mr. Kawai-Chang got me the drum machine hookup (Thanks again!) I bought a new interface yesterday. Which means pedal demo clips! Hopefully tonight I'll get a chance to set it up and bang out some clips to familiarize myself with interface and software.

I'm going to start with the EHX OD Glove and Palmer Bazz, maybe more after that.

Yeah, we got some tornadoes here between midnight and 2:00 - some pretty significant damage. My wife actually woke me up and asked if we should head for the basement or something. I guess I was pretty tired because I said that we'd be fine and rolled over and went back to sleep. Madison hardly ever gets a direct hit because of the lakes, but we did last night. Maybe I should start taking that stuff more seriously.

No poopie! We have this one spot in the utility room that always gets wet. Luckily the room has a concrete floor so water's easy to wipe up there, but I have to move the washer and dryer around which blows. For the life of me, I can never "catch" the water coming in. Last night the storm had even passed by and I went to bed, then when I got up the water was there! Damn!

When I redid part of my basement I moved my master bedroom downstairs mostly for the quiet but I can also haul ass under the stairs of I need to take some serious shelter.
