Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Yeah, we got some tornadoes here between midnight and 2:00 - some pretty significant damage. My wife actually woke me up and asked if we should head for the basement or something. I guess I was pretty tired because I said that we'd be fine and rolled over and went back to sleep. Madison hardly ever gets a direct hit because of the lakes, but we did last night. Maybe I should start taking that stuff more seriously.

Id love to see one touch down, I missed everything when it occurred a few months back. Everything rain, hail and wind like diverted around my piece of the apartment complex like a V and literally everything else was harmed even my neighbors cars near mine. But the tiny sliver of safety opened up right as it got by me and closed back up right after my place and tore down all the tree tops 20 feet past me.

Pics of that ancient house?

Also, you bring up a point. I know a lot of people who want to move to/vacation in Colorado for the legal bud. Idk how shady are you that you'd uproot yourself to make getting bud easier than it already is. Also why go somewhere purely to smoke, even a vacation I'd rather be hiking, or in museums, though I wouldn't mind being buzzed during the visit, it's far from the key reason I'd go anywhere.

Well, Colorado is also awesome, so that's an incentive for moving there lol. I know there are some families in PA that are moving to Colorado because their child/children suffer from severe forms of epilepsy that can only be treated with marijuana related medicine and Gov Shithead has refused to budge on his stance of allowing medicinal marijuana, even for these children who it can help go from 40 seizures a day to just a couple or sometimes none.

A massive storm rolled through the 'hood last night. Got a little water in the basement. Nowhere near enough to be catastrophic, but just enough to be a pain in the butt.

Me too. Found mold on both the finished and unfinished sides of the basement. Luckily nothing important got ruined.

Hey east coasters!

Anybody want to play a Pittsburgh show with us 7/18 or 7/19? Talkin to you Cleveland / Baltimore boys

Laz you guys can jump on too if you like but sounded like yinz werent tryin to play out too much right now which is why i didnt ask directly

See if Mother Hawk wants to play with yinz? Lee should know Rocko. And yeah, we're done for awhile so we can work on writing and recording the next release. Probably not playing the rest of the year unless something stupid happens like we get asked to open for Weedeater.

I haven't actually seen one since I was in junior high school, though we get them every year. They're pretty small and localized to a small area. Probably would have been able to see the one in Mississippi a few weeks ago but it was dark.

It was day light before and after, but dark as night during. My neighbor was freaking out, bugged the hell out of me, but then again helping panicky peoples a good thing I suppose.

In other news, a guy offered a Hartke lh1000 for my gk mb500, I don't want that head but would it be easier to sell?

I figured a gk head would move fast locally here... Wrong.

I don't mean to bash Colorado, it was awesome when I went as a kid.

I just find my friends funny, when they talk about going there, and have no intention of doing anything but the greenery (not the scenery). If you have a legit reason like health go go go, but my broke friends no doubt would drive all that way so they could smoke in public or something that probably isn't even allowed.

Also, laz you work with dogs. My neighbors chihuahua is annoying as all get out and keeps getting in my yard and just yapping from 3ft away. How do I befriend/scare it into quiet submission or maybe never come back.

Colorado is a goddamn amazing and beautiful state. My wife and I got married in Sedona AZ - we drove out there, passing through Colorado on the way. Maybe it was just the contrast of finally seeing something other than flat Nebraska but we were both just blown away by the beauty of Colorado.

We didn't have time to stop and do much, but the drive through from east to west was jaw-dropping. I'd go for that reason alone.

I guess mke got hit hard too no twisters though. Didn't even notice it because I sleep in the basement.

Eh, if the dog has poor social skills there's not a whole lot you can do when you're not the dog's owner. I'm personally not a very big fan of small dogs, I find them yippie and annoying, as much as I love all animals. Maybe try giving it treats every time you see it outside and it might warm up to you and stop barking so much. Then again, maybe not, cause small dogs don't like to stfu. Peanut butter, cheese, green beans, baby carrots, apple slices, bananas, chicken, watermelon... all these things are human foods that a lot of dogs enjoy.
