Heheh, that is the feeling of a happy bass player, IMHO. It's gorgeous, and basically the twin of my precious.
In the world of inexpensive pedals to produce a heavy bass sound, I got to fooling with driving a Behringer bass BDI 21 ($35) with a Caline Crazy Cacti ($40) to sketch down an idea I had this afternoon. I loved how it sounded so much I jammed for more than an hour on it and expanded out my idea. It's going into the English Muff'n and the CabDryVr cabinet simulator afterward (it was set to guitar cabs when I was tweaking the sound, I switched it to bass cabs and switched it back because I liked it better with the guitar cab sims). Those do a lot to the EQ, but so do every amp and cab. Man, I may have to fool with my live pedal setup again to include these two puppies.
So, yeah, I'm shoving $75 of pedals into about $400 of pedals, but the high priced pedals are really to make my home recording sound like an amp. The $75 worth of pedals made a lot of difference. I've shoved a lot through the latter set of pedals, and I enjoyed the experience considerably more through their inclusion.

Congrats! Always fun to reach a tonal goal after a long time. And you made me even more giddy; I have a set of Geezers coming in by the end of the year and plan to put them on my MIM Fender P, now I can't wait even less.

When I took it back to the shop this morning they were skeptical bc it sounded okay on their amp…
Dude opened it up and said that something on the pickup on the inside was reversed…
I’m still not 100% sure if it had to do with a grounding wire issue or not-I think he said something to the rate that it was almost like the pickup had reverse polarity…
Sorry for the weak-@$$ explanation, but he said something looked like it was backwards on the inside when he took off the pick guard…
He was also a different employee I think than the original person that originally worked on it…
Admittedly I was really steamed over that earlier this week, but to their credit he did say the shop would stand by their work and fixed it for free and it took all of 10-15 mins for them to fix it and it sounds absolutely phenomenal to me now that they fixed it…
I’m back in the service industry right now so I really do try to not be a jerk when things like this happen no matter how upset I am…
While it wasn’t ideal that I had to go back, I felt like they owned their mistake and tried to make it right which is all any reasonable person can ask IMO…He was like: “We stand by our work so if something still isn’t right, please come back”…
Meanwhile-After I posted that last update on here I was like “I’m gonna play a song or two before I go upstairs”…
NINTY MINUTES later I was like “I can’t keep play any more bc my fingers hurt and I need to go eat dinner”…I wasn’t really trying to practice, just played along to a bunch of Rob Zombie songs…
When I was playing tonight I think I realized that I like the flats w/ the passive P pickup bc it sounds almost “piano” like (if that analogy makes sense)…
My other two basses don’t seem to have that much resonance…It also sounds a bit more “natural” after playing active basses for the last 15 months…
REALLY glad they were able to fix it and get it working bc I was starting to kick myself a bit for buying a bass I haven’t really been able to play yet…
Nice that I was able to spend about 3 and a half hours playing today…Wasn’t really planning on playing anywhere near that much (usually I don’t even play on Saturdays), but hey, it was nice that I finally got to play with my new toy…

Yeah, I’m REALLY happy with the pickups…
Bass just sounds kinda pi$$ed…
It is kind of “boomy” with the flats and the Geezers, but I really like the sound bc it almost sounds like it’s got a little bit of a baritone dirt/grit/bite to the pickups that sounds really good especially on the open E string…
The A string on the P sounds like the E on my other bass and the E string on my P just sounds low and gnarly…
For those particular strings-I think I’m gonna leave it tuned to D#/Eb or D for the lowest string…Just sounds a bit darker and more melodic that tuning all the way up to E and I felt like I could never quite get my other bass to sound that good when I would down tune it…
I almost ended up w a Fender Jass last year bc I almost settled on the Geddy, but I wasn’t a fan of the neck bc it felt too much like a g*tar neck…
Really happy I didn’t end up with a J and really digging the the P so far bc it just feels like a giant slab of wood with that makes a bunch of angry noises which is all I was really looking for out of a bass…It is also a lot more ergonomically comfortable than my other two basses on both my fretting and plucking hand…
Really over complicated my search last year apparently bc I thought I wanted something more modern which is one of the reasons I wound up w a bass that has active EMGs…When I played the P today I was kind of like “FINALLY found the sound I wanted from a bass”…
Please post on what you think of the Geezers whenever you acquire them…
I feel like they sound pretty modern, but have some almost vintage sounding overtones…

To add to what my countrymen already posted here, I'd think you could easily spend two weeks, even up to a month visiting sites/cities that remind us, some more obviously than others, of that period.
BTW two weeks ago I happened to visit Münster, the city in what is now Germany where the Peace of Westphalia was signed. Recommended, too!
I hope my Geezers will arive next week. On Friday I got my black Harley Benton P-Bass. The build quality is reeeally nice, it doesn't feel like a 120 € bass. I especially like the neck, it's a lot chunkier than my Fender Player P.
Looking forward to swapping the pickguard. If it fits I'll put a mirror pickguard on there. Or purple pearl, we'll see.

I’m at the tipping point of inspiration to put Geezers in my HB. Only thing stopping me is that my Rick is my main bass, so it’s hard to justify to myself spending money on my backup. That has to violate the Commandments of GAS somehow.
SICK practice yesterday. A little background…. I’m in this little band called Interference. We started out playing hardcore with influences from you name it. BUT… guitarists left, and one being the primary songwriter, he got the kids (songs) in the divorce. Drummer and I have always wanted to go in the slow and heavy direction but we always got pushback. Guitarists leaving was the perfect opportunity for a reset… so we found a new lead player and our former lead singer is now on vocal/rhythm guitar. Set list is now up to two. Not bad for a grand total of 4 rehearsals with the new lineup, the first being basically an audition! The hang is awesome, so far we work together really well, good rehearsal space even if it desperately needs a space heater or 6. This could be good… i’m excited!

Nice! I think there's a webshop around here that has some of these, because the name "Levy's Leathers" sounds familiar.
When I bought my first bass, I found the ideal: a cheap leather padded strap, 4" wide. It's been on my main player for those 4 years. Love it!

Do these take a standard P pickguard? Gloss black against the matte would look money….
Most likely not. I ordered two chinese pickguards and hope I can make one of them fit. Some filing, some drilling, som cursing et voilà.
If all goes well it's gonna be that one.

Well to your first sentence-Isn’t life supposed to be all about balance??? <—— (and I mean that in The Zen Buddhism kind of way)…They are merely balancing each other out and I think all of us (myself included) could use a little more balance in our life…Am I right???… ;-)
That black bass already looks really Metal…Personally I would go w/ the black on black especially if you could find matte black, but I’m sure you probably already knew that from looking at my brand new basses’ color scheme…
Kinda wish I had a black headstock (or that they made a reasonably priced Fender P neck in that color like ESP/LTD does on the Surveyor ‘87):

This might be kind of a weird question, but do you regret putting a decal on your basses at all???…
Reason I’m asking-Your basses look really cool with those on them, but I’ve seen some REALLY bad sticker jobs on basses on this site (it seems like there is a right way and a wrong way to do that and yours look like they were done the right way)…
I’m thinking about putting a sticker on my pick guard, but not sure I wanna do that just yet…Aware I can always try to remove or replace the pick guard in case I change my mind and it doesn’t come off…
