For reference, the Elephant Skin is just a standard TFR with a boost in front (not the phat phuk boost - cleaner). So if you want more of a Green Russian with a built in boost switch, go ES. If you want something that's got more clarity and brighter/splattier gain, but less meaty/wooly muff-style lows, go with the PPB. I thought the PPB was less scooped and clearer, but I didn't personally find the sweet spot when I started using the clean blend. Some fuzzes are alright with a low passed clean blend, but this one sounded a bit 'separated' to my ears. If you want to go the muff direction with more options, also check out the Super Russian by W&C. It's got a pre-muff germanium boost, plus some more tonal options with the mids/creamy switches.
