Well the tracking finally updated and says delivery will be this coming Monday. It is coming from CA to CO, I am guessing that isn't Priority like he said, sounds more like ground...

Anyway, at least it should be over with soon. It is a 90's MIM P-Bass that I am doing some upgrades to. I need to drop it off with a tech to fix a few frets with some bad buzz and do an overall setup. It is just driving me nuts because I thought it would all come together quickly. Could be worse though. I'll post some pics when it is all done.

Yeah that sucks. I always do my damnedest to make a hardliner point to communicate with a buyer on when I believe I can get it out, when I pay for postage and drop it off, and check in if I don't hear anything after it arrives. I over communicate for sure, but that way everything is transparent.

Is neutral an option? Maybe leaving neutral and state gaps of clear communication, delays on shipping, ultimately arrived yada yada.

As long as the rest of it works, why not? If there's even only one usable effect in it (and I suspect there's more based on my experience with the HX Effects) then you're still getting a good deal.

Go for it. There is always a chance that it just need to be sprayed out with electrical contact cleaner.

There were some decent sounds in there. Also, that video reeks of something that would be on a Myspace page.

Right? Definitely the most 90s/early 00's piece of media I've seen in awhile. The Jane's Addiction Bass player with the flat cap and thermal T is really the chef's kiss to the whole aesthetic of that video lol

Guitar findings:
Nothing new to report. Did a quick shootout of the Grey Stache, Swollen Pickle, Musket, and Pharaoh Supreme today. No contest - the Pharaoh won out. Enough bass, but also plenty of grit and definition. So really nothing to say except that the Pharaoh Supreme and Supercollider '71 are still #1 and #2, respectively. Some details - the Swollen Pickle just has too much bass for my needs. It muddies up the rest of the signal. Grey Stache is a little better in this regard, but also doesn't really have as much grit as I'd like on guitar. The Musket is incredibly similar to the FatMetal Pro, much as the Supercollider was similar to it as well. I think both are based on the same muff, so no real surprises.

I also recently bought another HM-2 (the Bear Amps Heavier Metal), so while I'm waiting for that to arrive, I did a bass HM-2 shootout... It was much shorter than the fuzz ones. Basically, ran the Dunwich DIY HM-2 against the Earthbound Throat Locust. Both are phenomenal, but the Dunwich wins. It just sounds "bassier" in its timbre. A bit more compressed, but still plenty of dirt. I just have to squeeze the HM-2s on the boards now... I've done guitar HM-2 shootouts in the past, and have found the simple 4 knob clones to be my preference there.

Anyway, that's that. May be done with shootouts for a bit. (My wallet hopes so.) And I can get back to learning new songs! Hope all is well with everyone else! Seems like some heavy stuff happened when I was out, and my best wishes for all here. You're all wonderful people!

Taylor Hawkins.....this year's gotten a bit dark on the big musician front...Not wholly related, but still heavy AF and a hell of a drummer.

I'm just bummed out that again I told myself, ahh they'll be round next year and I'll catch em then...

Relevant news: I tried tri-amping and in this moment I have more cabinets than pedals on my board.

Long story short: Bluebeard is still my favorite bass fuzz.
