Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Yeah, I'm kind of becoming that way about the P since I learned to stop worrying and love the P. It's still not the first bass I pick up to do loony stuff. I'll at least work that stuff up on the narrow Dano with the short scale or a Jazz. I have gotten comfortable enough that I can do those things on the Precision, though. So if I decide that's the only thud that works sound-wise, I'll move over to it or cheat and grab the Mustang.
But if its just gotta have that particular thud, I'll go ahead and start with one. I love the 3/4 SX copy enough that I'm planning on getting a Squier of some sort and seeing how they are. If nothing else, I can put a 1/4 pounder in it.
That Ibanez eight-string
It’s the only 8 string that I will play after a few years or trying/owning other models. That varitone switch with those pickups is the game changer and makes it more versatile.
My phone takes awful photos. (Not pictured: Ibanez GSR105EX. I couldn't be bothered to bring it downstairs just for a crappy photo.)
Nordstand NPJ Blade Set (warm & wooly) w/ Nordstand 2B-4A pre, and Omega Bridge. I usually use it passive w/ just the p-pup. It’s currently string to drop-C for the Suicide Cages.
Ok, I don't think I've ever actually taken a pic of all my basses at once till now. I think this is all of them.
Nothing too special, but they all have their charms.
Edited to add: Heh, as I was putting the last of the basses that lives in it cases away, I remembered the Epiphone EB-3 I have. Nah, I'm not dragging them all back out and displacing the cat again to include it in the pic. I love it, even though it's finished like a piano. It'll have to wait for me to decide I need another bass to take another family pic. It may be awhile.
Edited to add #2: Dang, and the SX got missed in that pic, too. I'm awful at taking family pictures.

Hehehe, technically sparkly purple Jazz. It's a bunch of Topo Chico (Mexican bottled carbonated water) stickers. I like stickers.
Edited to add: Hey, I think it's been asked before, but how'd you make the custom pickguard for your p-bass? At least, I think it's yours.

Technically again, it's really pale blue - damn, I should have turned on a light or something sensible like remembering all the basses. I swear I almost graduated college with a fine arts photography degree. But it is a realllly pale blue. I originally wished I'd waited till I could find a red one, but I liked how it felt from the moment I played it. Now that it has the Sub-Sahara sticker on it, it will probably remain that color, and it's grown on me.
No idea if you mean me, but here's my P-bass guard. It's stock BWB with a sticker.
And shamelessly plugging the guard on my 50s P. It's one ply white which I found dull. I stuck on some adhesive plastic from a home improvement store. Cheap mod @ €5.

What’s that hippie sammich with the sickle headstock?
That one is a Fernandes Master Hand. It’s about as close to an Alembic as one can get but with a traditional body shape.
Heh, that Bass VI is really my problem child. I had to put loc-tite on the set screws for the bridge saddles because they kept vibrating loose and spontaneously lowering the action. On top of that, I'm not crazy about how the pickups sound. But I still think it's a neat guitar and I need to find a place to fit it into something.
The Thunderbird is great. It sounds awesome and plays awesome. It is huge, though.
I just have to say, I'm totally content with my mutt short scale J-style bass. I really have nothing else of value to add. I get great pleasure from just sitting in the basement noodling and watching horror movies with the volume down and subtitles on.
