So, braindump of recommandations:

The Rijksmuseum, the Dutch 'national' museum. With all the classics like Rembrandt. Also some great special locations like classic muskets and weaponry and music instruments. Right now they also have a very nice temporary exhibition on insects in art and about the first rhino in Europe.

The Stedelijk, museum for modern art. Beautiful building and collection.

The Hermitage, formally (until March 2022) a depandance of the Hermitage of St Petersburg, it now houses the Amsterdam Museum and also creates temporary exhibitions. The current one, created together with the British Portrait Gallery, about love stories is surprisingly good.

If you are interested in photography, check out FOAM and Link Removed.

That's it for museums, so now some other recommandations:
Concerto, an amazing record shop with also good coffee
Van Soest, same street as Concerto, great chocolate
Flo's Deli, multiple places in Amsterdam. Very good bagels
Antiekcentrum Amsterdam, for if it rains and you don't want to spend money on a museum. A covered market with weird antiqueshops.
RumBaba, accross from the Antiekcentrum, IMHO best coffee of Amsterdam

And thanks for the response to the bass store question. I didn't think there was much of anything in Alliance OH, but then again, I always stayed with my rather conservative grandparents. We didn't exactly go too many places...

Alliance is a small town, but, it is also the home of the DivIII football powerhouse of Mt. Union College. (Well, they are OK now, but a few years ago, when they had the older Keres as coach they won like 150 games and lost 15. Or something outrageous like that.) So, there MAY be a store in town.

Also, if you want to meet up for a beer or two, PM me. Always nice to meet people in person.

Does it Doom? Yup, it does. Not because it's orange, or Orange (because, well, yeah, that cargo cult marketing thing doesn't necessarily hold up), but: whoa. It does the thing for me.

The Thank You Fest at the Brutal Poodle was a rager! Great bands, awesome stage and it was somehow free admission and free beer and a charity event for a Labrador retriever rescue. It was one of the top-5 shows that I've played in Denver. We also did really well with merch sales, which is always cool!

We play a Halloween show this Sat in the basement of Clancy's Irish Pub. The owner is an old HC kid. There's a quick set by the opener, then a Black Sabbath tribute act, us, and a Misfits tribute to close out the night. It should be great! We are playing a Lamb of God song that I'm still working to get under my fingers.
