Just looked back, this became a long ass post...
I'm more of a 2 pickup person, but I could careless about using a blend. It's gonna be one pickup, the other or both. I like having knobs to tweak, but I'm normally a set and forget, maybe switch pickups for different songs person
I thought the same thing about the deathimizer. Heavy as poopie. Been wanting to try the pessimisser for some time too besides their preamp pedals and the 200w beta.
I will say the deathimizer is probably the most expressive fuzz I've played. I thought there was no way I could fit it on my board, but I'm starting to regret that decision and want to pick up another. The octave was glitchy, sometimes real difficult, but the fuzz on its own made the pedal worth it IMO.
@kleinenenten I know what you mean about tweaking stuff for at volume vs quiet. Also through headphones it changes, and worst of all through headphones without cab sim. I remember, when I was gigging a lot that I never tweaked anything at practice besides volume if needed. That or anything I tweaked I'd set back to where it was. Lately I've been doing the same with headphones, I'll move everything back afterwards.
I fully admit I can become OCD about sound and tweaking on pedals. I like having tons of knobs, simple pedals are even better for me. Helps with the self control lol. But I will say that somehow when I get close enough to what I want (which can be real quick) I don't bother killing more time. Obsessing for me ends up going no where. Fun for when I have time, but I've noticed Noone in the audience knows the difference. Maybe it's like ear fatigue for mixing and mastering, after a while you're just detrimental to yourself.
Side note: I recently tried one of my practice amps that has a cab sim but can't get that loud, and I realized how much of an impact that has on the sound and levels of pedals. I knew it had an impact, but never had a clue the extent. I need to get a cab sim of some type that I can use with my other amp that can crank the headphone output.

Hehe, and it is probably the heaviest pedal by weight that I currently have. I haven't opened it up to see what's inside, but I'm intrigued if it's the case that is causing it to be that heavy, or there really is so much stuff in there that the electronics are causing the weight. Who knows, maybe there's a lead bar in there!
I've had a chance to play with it some on guitar and bass now. As far as a distortion goes. It is damn flexible. Usable distortions at just about every distortion and clean blend setting and the three band EQ has a ton of control in it. It gets pretty heavy on the extreme settings, even if it doesn't go as heavy or as loony as some of my fuzz pedals. It's not a replacement for something like a Fuzz War, but it's a great distortion. I want to say it's my favorite straight ahead distortion at the moment, but I've only had it for a day.
I'm really, really tempted to pick up a Deathimizer after fooling with it for just a little while, though. I'm impressed by this pedal.

Soooo, my wife just asked me if I wanted to go to Amsterdam instead of Arizona for my Thanksgiving trip. I said sure. We'll see if it develops further.
No fuzzy pets at my house rn. My special lady friend has a great pup but we don't cohabitate. All animals at my house are in tanks.
I bought the HX effects for the 3rd time. I have always been frustrated with one idiosyncrasy of the thing but I learned that it can be disabled and they were on sale. I always dug the M9 and this is even better! That said, I'm not currently using any effects with Suicide Cages. We are playing a mini fest at a HX bar in Denver called The Brutal Poodle on Sat which should be cool. We also have a Halloween weekend show that I have to learn a Lamb of God song and a Hatebreed song.
I had really been missing spontaneity/improvisation in performing, so I've been piecing together a groovy, improv project (MMW, Club D’Elf, Cochemea, etc). I'm playing fretted and fretless electric, upright, and possibly some synth stuff. Currently a great keys player, and possibly a drummer/percussionist and drummer/percussionist/tenor player. My hope is that this lineup sticks for a while and the two of them rotate instruments. I'm really psyched, though it probably won't get mentioned much here as it has little to do with the DOOMS.

If you need someone with no musical talent to just make marginally musical sounds and drive away any potential groupies, I'm your guy.
Soooo, as much as I've been wanting to build a 4x12, I might soon be coming home with an ampeg 6x10hlf...
It's a bit beat up (could be cleaned up) but they are asking $400 for it and I have some gift certs for $75, thinking about offering $300 and see what they counter...
Should I be talked out of it? Been missing big cabs for some time but I never cared for always having to move a fridge. I can't recall how these sound, anyone have experience with one? I'll be plugging into it when I get a chance, but man I'm so tempted, great price.
My hang up, I'd like to make that cab. I know I could make it a bit lighter than the 610, which I don't know if it truly matters, and I can make it sealed which I prefer...but I don't really have time, and I've heard this cab is pretty tight and can sound more like a sealed cab.

Kinda the same boat for me. I can make do, have for decades really. I do like the appeal of bigger cabs. There's something about moving that much air and having it closer to your ears.
Plus having the form of that 610 is so much easier than moving 2 smaller cabs. I have a 2x10PF cab which is great, but skinner than my head which has little room to fit on top, and getting another would just make moving my rig tougher with an extra trip. The modularity is appealing, but I think I can easily work it out to keep the 2x10 for smaller stuff.

I would, except I have a long-standing policy of not doing anything even close to illegal in a country of which I am not a citizen. As much as it is tolerated there, I think a Netherlands jail would still be sucky.

I have partaken in Amsterdam. Zero problems or hassle. I once ate too much of a brownie and then burned the hell out of my tongue on fondue later. Fun times.
Did the same thing the other day except it was a soup dumpling. Dove right in as soon as they came out... Munchies
