Today was a study in opposites in bass world. I started by learning Electric Funeral by Sabbath - but the right way this time and not how I have been playing it for years! Stupid guitarist teaching me the guitar version... Anyway, after I got that down, I went to the other extreme and learned Suicide Nation by At The Gates. Don't quite have it all smooth yet, but pretty close (and I doubt I'll ever get the quick string-skipping part, but no one would likely notice!). Happy to be putting that low B to use for a bit. I think next will be some Hypocrisy for more low B and some more Kreator to get my downtuned 5 string some more action.
Other than that, I kept messing with my dirt pedals - the Cat Tail makes a solid low-gain option which I never thought of until someone in another thread gave me the idea. Similar tones to my ODB, which really makes me want to send the Cat Tail and Grey Stache off for clean blend mods more than I did before.
Anyway, hope all is well in doom-land for everyone else. Been a pretty good couple of weeks here for me, and hoping to keep riding it out for a while longer. Loving learning songs as my practice routine. Don't think I've been this motivated in years!
