Ok, I promise it's my last country post in this thread for at least 48 hours, but I cannot resist sharing the country doom of "The Armadillo Jackal"

There are so many I love, but I think those two take the cake. I will say I've been tempted by a rad sounding delay by jptr fx. Ah found it: Fernweh. It can cascade like a multitap, or was it that you can switch between 2 time settings, then also oscillate Luke the Rubberneck. Anyway, love the rubberneck and its so much fun, tactile and easy to use. The Gonk is so much fun to just get weird with. I could go down a rabbit hole with how much fun I have with it, and the dist is top notch.
Love me some straight to the amp playing. I will say, I'm mostly a set and forget type anyway.
Can't recommend the rubberneck enough. You ever wanna give it a go, let me know. I'm not gigging right now. The DS-1 is great and would go perfect with your boss blend. I recommend checking out the SD-2 and turbo distortion too. Both get in the same vein but can do different sounds too.
Love the country drops, there's some damn good country out there, nothing like most the junk on the radio.

Waylon is probably my all time favorite.
Man might have the best sense of rhythm in all of country music. He thumps. probably because he played bass before going on his own
. Not to mention one of the best all time songwriters. his covers are often better than the OGs. I could go on forever about Waylon^ this one is a cover originally by JJ Cale. OG slaps hard too
Yep, for country, he's hard to beat! My wife's fave record of his is The Taker/Tulsa. Tulsa is a great "Walk on home, boy" badd-azz country tune
Well good news is I bought a Curtis novak bridge pickup and a lollar neck pickup and it's fixed my feedback issues. It's starting to come together. Trying to find someone to make me a custom aluminum pickguard that fills in the middle pickup, switch plate and volume and tone pots cus I've removed them all. Sounding thick as a brick though.
Nothing musical to report. Wrecked my car Saturday, now have to see if it's fixable or junk. Kaa sad.
Thanks, it's not worth any real money, but it's my buddy. The perfect car for me, an old VW Jetta with a 5-speed manual, and none of the electronic bulls**t you are forced to have on newer cars. Actual buttons and knobs for everything. And a trunk big enough to bang a gorilla in.

O Stoner Doom Thread, I ask you, is it acceptable that I am completely happy when jamming along to songs alone in my basement? I was doing my thang last night, and having a jolly good time just playing rockstar to an audience of none.
Hey, all the songs that I play outside my bedroom generally start their lives there. Even when I have no band, I *have* to do it.
Been a rough week. Wednesday afternoon got some terrible news we lost a good friend to an apparent heart attack. Only 54. Rob was a larger than life guy and THE 'scene guy' in the Detroit area. If you were in a doom/stoner/punk/metal/psych/heavy band, you knew him because he was the guy that knew everybody and was seemingly always at your show. And if he wasn't, it was only because he was across town seeing a different band. Lol
A great bass player too. The pic below is from a few years ago with his stoner rock band Toecutter. I'm going to be standing on this same stage tonight, and it's going to be so damn weird not to see him right in front yelling 'Right on!' in approval.
He was/is so beloved among the scene several of his close friends and 2! different venues have already put together a Fest/Memorial and we've already been added on to play. Which is frankly, an enormous honor.
To have met the man was to love him. Heartbroken and teary-eyed, I'm going to turn it the [redacted] up and play like a mother[redacted] for him.
