Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I always read your posts on fuzz and want to try the pharoah supreme....curios how it stacks against my wizard fuzz...
[\QUOTE]

Never had a Wizard, but I've been told the Pharaoh Supreme is comparable to the "grail" that many people consider the Bluebeard to be, at least at certain settings. All I know is I have yet to find a better Muff myself.

Cheap Pharaoh clone ain't doing it. Seems off on bass at volume. Very distorted, but not in a good way. I'm wondering since it was "based on" the Pharaoh if anything was changed in the input section or something. It sounds much more "normal" on guitar than my active bass. I messaged the seller/builder, so we'll see what happens. It's usable on guitar, but I still think I prefer the Swollen Pickle to this specific clone on bass and guitar. But I'm nearly positive the "official" Pharaohs I've had in the past didn't sound like this, and my Pharaoh Supreme sounds far different than this clone - even when I'm trying to make the Supreme match it. Something's not adding up. Maybe this is my clue that I should just be done investigating fuzz pedals and be happy with my current collection!

Duuuude, you're in Gevaudan?!! How did I not know this? Lol. Love you guys. Your guitarist Bruce always seems to show up in our instagram feed with the Iommi riffs. Super rad!

Ha! Ah, thanks dude, that's kind. Yeah he's pretty good at that - I think he keeps Iommi, yob and warning on pretty heavy rotation on the gram. Be nice to have an easy access list to everyone's projects somewhere here actually, to be able to dive in and explore what's what...

Ya think?!?!
I mean, I've been trying to downsize this past year, and have been mostly successful, but sometimes the curiosity gets the best of me.

And this specific seller is refunding me because he said that this wasn't an exact clone as seemingly advertised. It was specifically changed for guitar for some reason, and he admitted it wasn't for bass, whereas the original can do both. So there's that. For a few bucks of shipping, it's all good. And any time I buy a clone I realize it may be different from the original, but I've never had one THIS different.

Friday evening. The replacement belt for my turntable came in the mail and after I put it on I sat back and took a large rip from my 420 vape and reached for some classic vinyl that I havent heard in ages. You know that feeling of reconnecting with that sentimental magic that transports you back to a special time in your life?. An LP can totally do that, not only that but it had me momentarily playing fn' air bass on the fn' spot!. Took over my fn' soul and than slammed me into the fn' couch Dudes!. Therapy!.
Put this through the headphones and soak up Geezers magic!.

That's a damn good idea. I wonder if maybe we could work on that comp and then reach out to mods to edit the first post with the links or something? Would be an easy place to recall everything and not have to search the thread for it.

If everyone has something on spotify, we could at least pit together a TalkBass Stoner Doom Thread Playlist.

Made some good progress on my pedalboard this weekend. Finished my junction / stereo splitter box as well as routing and hinge attachment for the upper shelf. The junction box has 3 stereo inputs/outputs then one stereo input that splits a TRS cable with the tip going to the blue and the ring going to the red Jack's. All color coded for ease of connecting up. I'm not the world's best woodworker so don't judge me too harshly.

Heheeh, I wouldn't fault your workmanship. Not only is your pedal board far more complex than mine, but the wood portion would look like it was cut with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich if I did it.
