Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Vote for Kaa for president in 2024. I promise when I have the nuclear codes I'll launch. Give this planet to the mutant ants and bees that come from the nuclear fire.
Mutant ants AND bees? So many bee species are already going extinct! What makes you think a nuclear apocalypse will save them? Typical uninformed politician making campaign promises they can't (or won't) keep... ;)

FYI for all you doom hounds: sunn o)))'s "Sub Pop Singles" contribution is now streaming:

Two rather bite-sized sunn offerings (comparatively speaking), at about 5 minutes each.

It's in their typical drone-y wheelhouse. For what it's worth, I find their collaborations the most interesting, as those two just sort of do what they do at this point. When you combine them with Atilla Csihar, or Ulver, or Boris or whomever - that's when the magic really starts. Only so many ways you can ring out deep distorted chords without any percussion. Their stuff with Atilla is by far my favorite - Domkirke, Monoliths and Dimensions, the limited live releases, etc. His "gregorian chant from the bowels of hell" approach really suits them like no one else.

@br1qbat and I saw them a couple years ago at the Majestic in Detroit. Highly recommended. It's like wandering into some occult ritual happening in the middle of the forest.

Anyone interested in a Weedeater skateboard? Looking to trade for pedals. I also have a Boss SD-1 and a MXR Carbon Copy that I can add in for the right trade.

What kinda pedals ya looking for?

That's pretty dang cool that they made decks for merch. If I remember right, don't those guys own/operate Magnetic Eye Records? If so their redux series of albums are in a class of their own IMO. Not every song is a hovering, but as a whole from concept, to art to tunes, they knock it into the next county with those albums.

A little bummed that the crowd was pretty sparse, as they missed Telekinetic Yeti absolutely slaying. Loud, thick and amazing as expected!

Telekinetic Yeti:

That's awesome! My band, High Gravity Project, played on the bill with Telekenetic Yeti and Pinkus last night in Huntsville, Alabama. We had a blast! We actually did a rendition of the Butthole Surfers' song Who Was in My Room Last Night and Pinkus got on stage with us for a minute. I hope someone took some pics. That's a career highlight for me having been a huge fan of the Surfers since I was a teenager back in the early 90s. Like your gig, the crowd was light though, maybe 60 or so. Wednesday night in a smallish Bible belt town is tough I guess.
