Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Grief is tricky. It hits everyone differently and in random ways. I got unexpectedly shltcanned 3 months ago on my oldest's first day of kindergarten. I felt some strong as$sed grief over that one because I busted my balls for 1.5+ years to be nothing but a footnote on an accountant's ledger.

One month later my dad finally gave up the ghost...he lived on the opposite side of the US so we weren't that close, plus he had basically been on DeathWatch for years. That sucked balls too but I think that when you have time to process or prepare for the end of a person or thing, it seems slightly easier. Still sucks.

Typing this as I lay here grieving my health, flu & cold season has got me knackered this year....
Yeah, it's a sadly funny thing the way loss hits people. I repress like a boss.

I hope. It's my main hobby, and it's odd having no desire to do that which I always think about.
It will, but just give it time. When I was kicked out of the band it hit hard and was feeling the same. Add on top ADD, which is always as a struggle to keep my focus and determination, I knew I just had to be patient. Obviously not comparing my situation to any serious loss etc, but I hope the desire comes back and increases 10 fold sooner than later!

Thank you. I hope so as well.

My board is essentially the same, but I switch the Phuk w an eae halberd depending on the situation.

Got some more bass time in today - finished learning "Letters From Earth" by Sabbath. Just got to tighten it up a little now, but it's all there. Probably be good tomorrow when I run through it again.

In other bass news, I swapped out my Arion Metal Master for the Earthbound Audio Throat Locust. More of an in-your-face HM-2 now, but not quite as low-mid/bass heavy. It evens out, I guess. And one of my delay pedals died on me today - I'm assuming the footswitch because it just wouldn't turn off, no matter how many times I pressed it. When I removed and replaced power, then it wouldn't turn on. I need to get a few pedals looked at, so maybe I'll finally do that soon. Maybe some holiday money from the in-laws? Who knows? But with at least 3 of my pedals having issues, I probably need to get on it.

Anyway, hope all is well with the rest of you fine folks. Keep on doomin'!
