Sometimes I wonder if those frequency controls on some amps and pedals are an inside joke by the engineers. Oh yeah yeah turn it and it will sound like this yeah yeah sure. Like geek revenge.
I noticed Way Huge wised up and made a new Swollen Pickle with the internal trim pots on the outside of the pedal. I just hate having to open the pedals to tweak, put them on the front ya bunch of fuccckerz
Yeah I don't deal well with double talk and folks questioning my integrity. Thankfully we were both at our own homes or I think I'd have done something regrettable like get arrested for knocking his teeth in.
He wants to call and check in, no problem but after a long day where I do whatever has been asked I need some patience and tact.
I stopped doing construction because folks lack of professionalism was damaging my calm and I was chemically compensating.
People act right and I don't have attitude problems. But a little anger gets big quick with me.

Seriously though. Japan always goes ten times harder with their poopie. At least when it comes to punk and crust stuff. They take a genre and go to the mega extreme. Just wait til they discover crabcore. There's going to be people dressed up like you think they are some goth cosplay thing, when it's just Japanese crabcore scene kids.

theyre all bad. i remember i used to have an active bass, SVT 4pro, compressor, limiter, two giant EQs. probably in total about 35 knobs to twiddle with. at one point i didnt even know what was controlling my tone, felt like i was untangling a giant shoe knot every show.
the SVT has bass/treble/mid and a volume knob. 405 has bass/treble/mid/presence, and two volume knobs (and ive realized the master volume is nowhere near as sensitive as the gain knob on hiwatts). the bluebeard has tone/volume/fuzz. if you cant get the sound youre looking for with just a few knobs, time to get something else.
I listened to the whole album and there is more punk on it than metalcore. It is honestly one of the most creative albums I have ever heard.
Not that I think there's anything wrong with having a lot of knobs in your signal chain, but we're of the same thinking on our personal preference for this.
One of the main problems with having too many knobs is those devices rarely sound as good as something that is just made to sound a certain way. Sure maybe theoretically it is more flexible and can get more sounds but I find myself forever thinking can this sound better?
Eh, that depends on taste. I decided to ditch the active EQ on my bass to go all passive but I want to have complete passive control. So tone, cap switch, series/parallel switch. I don't like to have tons of stuff on my amp but, be it on the amp or external, I feel that I need parametric EQ if I need to dial in anything specific.
Pedals, to me it's all about versatility as I can't afford to buy, try and sell tons of pedals, so I prefer going with something I can tailor to what I want.

And the DK has 4 knobs that effect tone Vol/Tone/Gain/Blend
The moog has a ton of knobs, but those serve a lot of purpose.
I love having Vol/Tone only on the EGC, It seemed like every time I plugged in my RD the active electronics needed tweaked to sound right, sometimes it felt like it changed mid song.

I'm with you on this - which is why I avoid the Sansamp-style amp sim pedals. I already have 3-band EQ on my bass, and 3-band EQ on my amp, not to mention EQ options on my dirt pedals. Adding another preamp stage with MORE EQ was just muddying things up and making it more difficult to get a tone that I like. Unplug the preamp pedal - instantly sounds much better.
my blunderbuss has 6 knobs and i hate it. it gets so annoying when i want to adjust the tone, i have no clue what knob to play with, and when you mess with one you have to mess with 2 others. so annoying.
give me simple 10 times out of 10. if you have to twiddle with knobs for more than 10 minutes its time to move on.
should have pulled the moog board out, you end up with a volume and tone for each pickup lol.
Depends on what the knobs do. If it's something like clipping type or a hard setting that I'm never going to change, I don't care. If it's a bunch of tweaky controls that are all interactive, I tend to shy away from gear like that. My GK has a lot of knobs, but they almost never move. For pedals I prefer minimal controls with a really specific sound, it means if I want a different sound I can just buy more pedals. Most of my pedals that have more than 3 knobs, I dial in a setting I like and pretty much never touch it. Same with amps, I tend to memorize my settings and every once in a while I have to move something to compensate for the room.
EDIT: Oh...and I'd be fine with a bass that has no knobs. Is it on? I'm good.

Yeah, the only pedal with more than 3 knobs I have is the Wizard Fuzz, but that's just a two band EQ + 3 knobs so it's not too bad. Those Strymon pedals give me a stroke.
