Ampeg VT-120. I really don't know much about Ampeg other than I dig V4 and SVT tones lol. What Ampeg do you own Bryce?

The 1200S 6x12 is pretty meh for bass. Farts out really easily, doesn't have much low end.

I can't believe people have actually heard of the band whose gear that they never use takes up space at our rehearsal studio. The running joke is that it's uncertain that they actually exist.

I think @beebassdude uses some derivative of the 1200s cab, with different speakers, of course. Those Sunn transducers aren't really up to snuff. But if you were to put like...JBL K120s in it...


And hell yes I know of Howlin' Rain, they're one of my favorite bands. The Russian Wilds album is absolutely fantastic! Ethan Miller, the main guy, was part of Comets on Fire previously, and Isaiah Mitchell of Earthless was on Russian Wilds.

Ampeg v3 it's far as I can tell from research it's a Marshall/fender (twin?) depending on what switches you have. And you can also turn the dirt and clean channel on at once. I've never used anything ampeg in my life but this so can't comment on ampeg tone, I'm going on what little I found online. It's 6550x2 for 50 watts, but it has transformers of an SVT I think so I wonder if you could have it modded to do 100 watts too?

The v3 should be a very similar to a v4 at half the volume. MTI era stuff is just the company going thri all the old ampeg back stock I believe.

It's 100 watt brother was the v7 they share the same preamp. Corey had that he said, but he's had it all so no surprises there!

Gave the Monobrow another solid listen yesterday while driving my car. I've listened to it a bunch of times but I think that's probably the fourth time I've given it a dedicated listen. Gets better every time. Can't wait for my vinyl to show up.

I'm game for an all Weezer thread, but we'd have to ignore everything after the 2nd album.

I imagine your vinyl should get to you this week sometime.

Some component might be getting too hot and failing to keep up, or already has and risks getting worse.

I think the fault light is not a perfect thing from quick reading. And only focuses on the power tube circuits.

since it drops in an out that usually means a bad preamp tube or dirty pots/jacks.

its a slow fade out/fade in kind of thing. not abrupt. Takes a second or 2 to drop out.

Intonation and tension is better. Low strings just sing.
