I'm not sure I understand.These were just posted in the Dingwall thread. I have never had more bass GAS.

My 74 SVT has started to hum really bad. I wiggled the phase inverter and drive tubes in and out and it went away. It's maybe pull all the pre amp tubes and maybe spray a little deoxit and start from there.
Do they? I've never seen one in person. I was considering buying one before I got my reissue T, as the ones I saw were pretty cheap. The guitar cab I have is an Ampeg that would have gone with one of those SLM era guitar heads.
Yeah... the Sunn transducers really really aren't up to snuff for bass. For guitar, I'm sure they sound great. Beebassdude's 6x12 derivative has very different speakers, and also is ported, as I recall. The original Sunn 1200S is pretty much a sealed guitar 4x12 extended far enough to put two more speakers in it.
That is so weird and kinda hilarious to me that you listen to Howlin' Rain. Right now Ethan is storing his drum set, a Fender bassman, a Fender twin, and some other little Fender amp in the studio where we rehearse. Also has this Fender cab that is huge for only having two speakers. I think they're 12"s, but I'm not sure. He had an old Ampeg flatback 810 in the studio for the longest time that I was not allowed to use. For a while it was hooked up to a V4B, but once that left, it wasn't hooked up to anything. Made for tons of gear envy.

The lower strings have a longer scale, making them sound clearer or something.

It's 8ohms so the alphabass can't be used with it. Probably trade/sell the crate v50 combo towards some head.
Speaking of ohms holy hell my friend was like "what's the deal with ohms anyway? I've tried all the inputs on my tube head and the tone never changes??"

And now he's saying he won't sell it to me... agreeing to meet him where he said in the ad was ok, but requesting to test at the guitar center there was tedious and impossible?? I said I'd go directly to him as it's like a difference of 20 miles and said it's not very cool to renege on a written contract we both agreed to...
Hopefully this resolves itself. Otherwise I'm chalking up to maybe theirs an issue with it, as idk why you'd prefer to meet at a mcdonalds or something on the highway rather than your home or the music shop of your choice.

Just thinking of someone plugging a tube head into every different ohm input on the cab just makes my head hurt lol, one time I caught my guitarist and my drummer trying to figure out how run my beta bass as preamp into a Randall v2, they had it so wrong that all I could was face palm and tell them " maybe I'll explain it once your both a little older" which pissed them off because I'm a few years younger that all of them lol
I bet people are offering him more cash then he was asking.
I told him we had an existing written contract which you technically can't back out of once two parties agree (thanks business law class). He's presently ignoring me, but I said he needs to call me and say what he means.

One guitarist I knew got a Marshall stereo cab.
So he proceeded to plug two speaker cables from his head into the stereo inputs, thinking that that would do something. He's normally not a stupid guy.
For some reason playing guitar seems to make people do dumb things.
Ahhh poopie I think got a lead on a matching peavey 215! Too bad it's gonna be a long time till I can afford another pair of kapplites, I still have the box for when I'm ready.
Also I sent my recordings to the guy trying out on vocals for my band and he's coming through with some very 80's pentagram like ideas which we love, I gotta though he kinda won us over by letting us hold onto his late 80's Mesa dual Rect and his pedal board from my guitarist to use who use to be his drummer. He also said Wednesday he's bringing more toys too, hopefully some guitars or maybe this ripper that he always goes on about? Who knows either way he has right idea about lyrics.

And yeah, I'm a HUGE Howlin' Rain fan. No one else I know has ever heard them, but whatever, most people I'm friends with don't know what the hell I'm talking about regarding music. I had a friend call Humble Pie metal once as in "Why is that metal so aggressive?" Anyway, yeah, I saw Howlin' Rain at Sasquatch in 2012, and they blew everyone else I saw there away (okay, except maybe Jack White). That's funny his stuff is just laying around unused.
Jeez. I suppose, but there's gotta be a better way than that.
Pretty sure in the picture I saw, there were ports. I might be remembering a different 6x12, though. The 1200S definitely isn't ported. It's just a ~43" by 30" by 15" sealed box with six 12" drivers on the front. Nothing else to it, really.

Which is itself a subgenre of hard rock, but still.
Just got back from High on Fire. shag, that was a solid show. They covered a lot of ground from their discography. Pretty sure they played at least one song from each album. Obviously more from "De Vermis Mysteriis" but they smashed out a few classics like "Devilution" and "10,000 Years" plus the regular hits like "Rumours of War" and "Frost Hammer" before closing the set with "Snakes...". poopie was great!
FOH sounded great, at least to me, but the dude kept shaging up the band's on-stage monitors. The band had to tell the sound guy to fix their monitors after each song for the first four songs of their set. Jeff and Matt got vocally agitated and scolded the sound guy from the stage after the fourth time but later thanked him for making it work.
Didn't get a chance to find or gearnerd with Jeff but I was able to stand right in front of him for the whole set and get a decent peek at his gear. That's about as close as I got to gearnerd lol. He was rocking his 70's (I'm guessing) P through an Ampeg Heritage SVT and matching 810 cab. SOunded HUUUGGGEEE! He had a nice looking trans-red Squier P on stage too with what looked to be SD Quarter Pounder pups installed (couldn't tell from the distance) which he never used. It was likely a backup. Matt was playing through three Marshall JCM 800 heads and four Marshall 412's. poopie was off the chain loud!
Took some shots of them (mostly Jeff) in action. Also managed to grab a sneaky shot of Jeff's pedalboard. Kinda cool that he's using the new MXR Bass Preamp pedal, I thought.
