Good Datassian Damn I love that Idiotbox Ron FN Swanson Super Fuzz, so much joy out of one little metal box!!! Even giving it a little diddlin' before I got to work in the morning.
Figured you did that every morning.

Actually Micah was playing Super Mario so loud on his DS in the morning I could hear it while in the shower. No really crack it music and loud noises aren't good for feeling alone lol.
Gents with Bluebeards, what settings you running? I am just not bonding with my BB on bass lately, think it is just a matter of knob tweaking though.
I knocked the gain down to 9 o'clock on the Terror Bass 500 and I can use it low volume just fine now. Kind of old school mentality of leaving knobs flat at noon thing. I usually would only tweak the gain knob from noon and then on up when wanting to pull some amp dirt. Knocking it down to 9 o'clock also gives me a nice Motowny clean that takes pedals well. So Duh on me.
I was thinking for tonights ric experiment, chromes. I got a set with some decent life left.

Bummer. I am the opposite lately, not sure if it is from the migraines or allergies but I am falling asleep watching tv on the couch and crawling to bed before ten this week and not wanting to get out of bed in the morning.
Also, in more grown up news, now that I'm almost 34, I'm thinking about getting a credit card. My credit could stand to be better and we don't have much of a safety net socked away. Also, I could try to justify getting myself a tube head. Also some furniture for the new house, yeah... furniture.
These would be small purchases that we'd pay off almost immediately, I'm going to go to apepoopie and spend more than we can afford. The last thing I want is more debt.

Got the 77 jazz all cleaned up and tuned to BEAD. $30 from my favorite local shop to polish up the bass, adjust the nut for the B string and set it up. Not bad at all.
The .136 B feels awesome. Really like the Circle K strings I put on here. The bass just SINGS through my practice Ashdown rig at home. Can't wait to hear it through the big rig.

How many of you guys pay for a set up when its just a change of strings? I can see paying for some work if you need the nut replaced, but the rest of the neck and bridge set up I can do pretty quickly.
I usually take care of it myself - I'm slowly getting better at it, there were times in the past when I really should have just paid for one, though. If there's something more involved that I need done then I have a couple of co-workers that will do the work for beer. I'd prefer that to taking it to a shop, just because I know these guys and trust them more than some of the local techs.
I normally don't pay for just a string change, unless it's an older bass that I just acquired and want a pro set of eyes to look it over. Since the nut had to be filed and there would be some big adjustments to the truss rod I didn't feel like doing it myself. If I had an actual work bench to work on guitars I'd probably never take mine in, but I don't really have room for one in our current house.
Then again, when it's only $30 and it's a local mom and pop shop who supports our band and hooks us up, I don't mind feeding into the local economy.
