Laz sorry to hear about the accident. One of my dreads too, as the insurance company doesn't pay Crap for a high mileage car, regardless of how clean you kept it. I just dropped more than a grand into my 2000 passat wagon for a new clutch, turbo, etc, and if someone hits me I'm out of luck, as according to blue book the car is nearly worthless.
That's the thing about VWs, we drive the worthless cars with way too much money in them. Hence, we'll never sell them and keep on driving them.
I love Passat wagons. Major jealous.

Thanks for all the congrats on the baby dudes. I tried to catch up, but every page I slowly got through there were 5 more added. We're in a baby time warp right now, I took a week off to help take the pressure off my wife. She's a damned warrior goddess. Crazy short labor, all natural home birth, she walked and did errands with me through half of it, gave birth standing up and has been back to doing housework and tons of baby centric errands while nursing (sometimes while walking). The midwives thought she was a f*cking rockstar.

Is there anything cool or worthwhile to do with busted speakers? Like this peavey 112 pa speaker I'm most certain has a fried voice coil.

Buy a peavey replacement basket and fix the speaker yourself. It's a good thing to have around, or you could sell it.
Hard to get a better bang for you buck than peavey.
Same part replacement is always best.

Wow, I just read that volume thread and just...holy sh*tsnacks, what a load. I can't believe S/D got called out like that. When did "rock" musicians become such pansies? I've said it before, as much as I like stoner metal, the main reason I frequent this thread is because you guys are on the same page when it comes to amplifiers and such (and also it's just really damn entertaining in here), so in a way it's even more frustrating because I can't say these people don't understand the genre in that volume discussion. I'm more in the acid rock vein of things, but I still want to be as loud as all get out and have stacks of amps. Like, isn't that what rocks about? When did it become about being polite and making sure everyone is okay with how loud you are? That's like the exact OPPOSITE of rock and roll. I get that you need to play to the venue, so blowing out a dinner restaurant might not be cool, but in a proper concert venue, where people have come to see rock or metal, why would you not? I'm not here for people to have conversations while I play in the background, I'm not here to be polite, I'm here to play loud, balls out rock. Like if I go to see Wolfmother tomorrow and I'm not blasted backwards by them I'll be bummed. And it's not just loud for the sake of being loud (although, to be honest, there is just something about being loud...). I want the music to be an experience, I want it to blur your vision and kick you in the chest, while still sounding balanced and high quality. Isn't that what every major development in amplification has been about for like the last 50 years of music? It's just frustrating when people are like "you're too loud for rock music". When did rock become so neutered?
