Talked dude with the peavey 215 down to 125, still a little more than I hope to spend but it's probably still cheaper than buying two new black widows, also he told me it does include speaker grill and sliver side skirt thingys, can't wait to see what kinda tones I can get out of the two stacks.

Friend had a 215 black widow cab along time ago... Thing was a beast.

If you have peavey speakers that are blown you can always order replacement baskets and fix them yourself. It's easy to do and cheaper than buying new speakers.

What you really want is a custom Dunwich that's two channels, one Hiwatt-based, the other Sunn-based. And blendable.

Though I could just find a vintage one for WAY cheaper (there's one in the classifieds but it's on the wrong coast, as per usual).

But nah, I think I'll sit on my cash for now, keep looking a my options. poopie, maybe I'll just go find two more nice Sunns just to expand my collection...there's something nice about the uniformity (it really soothes my OCD tendencies).

The P-bass is working out great. Plugged into the Orange AD200 sim on my iPad, it's really sweet. Thinking of switching to flats though, I don't like the new rounds as much as I like them on my Jazz. Any recommendations? I've done a few searches but there seems to be a lot of conflicting info. I'm aiming towards a War Pigs style tone if that helps!

Boxed up ready to send back to be looked at, it won't fit in my car all boxed up so have to wait on a friend with a truck, trouble is he started a job with crazy hours so this next week hope to get it shipped.

man, I just watched an early 2000s rammstein live concert. that's some solid stingray bass.

gotta say, the song Amerika is still completely and entirely accurate almost ten years on.

I never got Rammstein until a buddy of mine talked me into giving it a real listen.
I guess I still don't get them but they are pretty good.
The video with the fat suits is awesome.

Flats are a tuff decision to make. I bet you would be good with chromes after the break in period. They have decent highs, ok lows, and a medium tension.

I like the La Bella flats, especially the lighter gauge. Sadowsky is nice too.

Fender 9050s. Cheap and made with the same lack of science strings were made with in the 70s.

Yeah I love rammstein. It's really some of the best pop music has to offer.

but they don't sound like Geezer, i found the La Bella flats do the Geezer sound quite well.

True, I've always found his "sound" to be more of a finger attack and speaker buzz than a specific string/amp.
His thwack is very hard but controlled. Coupled with some tape saturation of course.

Old recipe fenders would be ideal but hard to find. I should also mention I dislike chromes but they are easy to find and decent "middle of the road" flats. My favorites are Rotos but you loose some volume and pretty bright for flats and ghs precision flats which are muddy and awesome.
