It's gimp season in my neck of the woods too. Guess the high pollen count is the blame for all the people at work sneezing or having migraines. I am running on empty, since Monday I have felt like someone stabbed me in the eye and never bothered to pull the knife back out(I need Jack Black's character from Jesus' Son to fix me). Dealing with FN intermittent car problems to boot. Barely touched my bass this week

You guys ever watch the show on the religious channel Jack Van Impe Presents? Nut job who has the bible memorized front to back to front. His creepy plastic surgery wife reads current news articles and then he recites "relevant" bible verses that have predicted that event to happen and then tells you how the world is going to end lol.

First how do you find 2 people that happy that the world is going to end?
Second how do you talk someone else into putting them on international tv?

NBD! Continuing the impulse buy theme, I picked up one of the Squier VM P-basses... mostly cos I liked the colour. I expected it to be a POS, but I didn't have a P-bass so figured what the heck.

It just arrived at work, in tune, and has a better setup and lower action than any of my basses, including my Ric.

And I'm here for another three hours and can't slip off to play it.

Anyone here try those Daddario balanced tension strings yet? Thinking of giving them a try.

I need to find some new strings for my AB1. Not sure what it will cost to get the Dingwall's shipped to me, so finding a "local" option might be a good idea as well.

I need to try it plugged in, but I reckon a white scratchplate and maybe a pickup upgrade and it could be one of my main basses.

You guys saw that they reissued Mastodon's Remission yeah? I'm honestly not that big of a fan of that album although a lot of metal people think its their best, but the packaging looks fantastic, especially compared to their more recent overpriced releases.

I also saw that you can meet Mastodon on their new tour if you buy their $150 VIP package....on top of your ticket price. Whaaaaaaaaaat? You want me to pay $150 to meet the band? They are one of my favorites, but fvck that noise

At least you live in SLC and not some random bat **** crazy middle of no where Mormon town. I was in SLC a few years ago and really loved it. The Red Iguana is the ****!!!

Will do, probably get some soon as the Forever bass seems to be a bit muddy with the Tapewounds I slapped on it and they are a bit noodley low tension too. Man all that SLC talk, I so want to vacation in the high desert sometime. I guess I read too much Edward Abbey LOL.

I've been thinking about trying them out. I've used the regular nickel wound D'Addarios a bunch and liked them. I prefer them and DR's personally, the hexcore strings have good tension.

We share our new rehearsal space with a guy that makes custom t-shirts. Said he'd show us the process then let us go to town on our own designs for cost only, pretty stoked. Might have to come up with a lot of one-off custom shirts.
