Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Mega churches are stupid but as long as they don't send people out recruiting I can ignore then.
ANY one that speaks to me in public or at my house about trying their church, they get my ire.
The insinuation I need or want saving I find incredibly insulting. Their places of ritual, much less so.
You ignore me I'll ignore you.

What Church needs a Space Echo?

(you knew this was coming)

THE CHURCH OF...

She's getting it, scrapes and such are part of the deal. She accidentally shot her board under an ice cream vendors cart. Started to get discouraged then kicked it back in gear.
Balancing, pushing and turning with no assistance! :)
I need to tweak the long board a bit... It was really loose.
I was never much of a vert or trick rider more bashing streets for transportation here and there.

I was always a terrible skater. I ended up sticking with long boarding and bombing steep hills.

I stopped long boarding after some idiot sped down the road and nearly look me out. Lost my balance, bailed and tried to run it out but I was going too fast to stop. Ended up eating poopie on the pavement and slid a good 4 or 5 meters along the asphalt. Busted my face, arms, back and legs pretty good. What's worse is that my board followed me along shortly after and smacked my right in the ribs while I was down.

Skating's mad.

Man I hate it when what seems like a nice girl turns into a klingon after two days. That is just not gonna work for me. Back to the drawing board.

I hate mega churches too. Televangelists especially. My grandma used to turn the PTL club on full volume to wake me up for school. I told her I thought they were full of it. I was right on that one.

I like to read about religion to find out where it all came from. Now I don't buy any of it.

Couple of the old Churches in SF would make awesome clubs. But it would never get approved by the planning board or neighborhood committees.
They would.

But yeah, no club would get approved by the shaging NIMBY tech ******** who've taken over SF. That's why almost all the shows I see seem to be in Oakland these days.

She grew forehead ridges and engaged in really rough sex with you that involved biting?

Televangelists are shaging scum. They should be fired into the shaging sun.

Hello everybody! Been a little while. I'd try to catch up but that's an entirely hopeless endeavor. What's new with me you ask? Ah, well shucks, that's nice! This week I:
-got the last of my damn stitches removed. No more mole surgeries for the foreseeable future
-I got a hair cut! Upon returning home, my mother's question was "Did you even go? Or did you just spend an hour driving around town?"
-gave myself a new scar thanks to a nail at the job site (chicks dig scars, right? RIGHT!?!!)
-got to take the Sunn out for a spin last weekend, that was fun. Other bassists used it too, so I actually got to hear what it sounds like in the audience. Not bad, not bad.
-discovered the band Dewollf , really digging their stuff (Organ Power Trio? Awwwww yeah)
-in the process of buying supplies to start doing liquid light shows, because if I'm gonna be playing Acid Rock, I gotta have dem visuals.
-ran some numbers, and think I MIGHT be able to swing a Hi-Tone this year.

But seriously, I'm really weighing my options on the last one. On one hand, I could have an extra $2250 in my pocket. On the OTHER hand, I could a bamf new amplifier. Like, that might be a 3rd of my spending money (not food stuffs or essentials, that's al budgeted seperately) for this school year, but...AMPS. Ugh. We'll see. I really want it. But I really like money. But it's an amp, and it's loud, and it'd last me for years...and I really like being loud.

Being in Utah and growing up Mormon you see a lot of this... Fvqin' giant temples and churches on every block. members donate 10% of all of their income. It's sick how rich these people are. Due to the high percentage of them, they also essentially control the votes. I could go on and bitch in great detail but to sum things up, it's a very frustrating community to live in.
At least you live in SLC and not some random bat poopie crazy middle of no where Mormon town. I was in SLC a few years ago and really loved it. The Red Iguana is the poopie!!!

You guys ever watch the show on the religious channel Jack Van Impe Presents? Nut job who has the bible memorized front to back to front. His creepy plastic surgery wife reads current news articles and then he recites "relevant" bible verses that have predicted that event to happen and then tells you how the world is going to end lol.
