wonder if anyone has ever invented a "tent" like device that clips onto the lip of the hood while it's open for working on cars in the rain?
(edit) Or I guess you could wear a poncho... but my idea seems cooler.

Lol, I think I'll leave the patent to someone actually willing to design and build the damn thing. I can't stand people who just patent something because it hasn't been patented yet, haha.

Maybe eventually I'll be in a house... might try renting one in the next year. It'd better have a garage for car fixin' and a basement for recording!
I got the house but joking because I would love to have a garage but want to vacation more than get a garage, plus I think only a nice sized shed would fit on my lot since I live on a tiny lot on Main Street.
Nice. I don't need a goddamn boost on that kind of thing, but its minimal features otherwise sound nice. How big is the footprint?

Mostly tried them again since they were kinda cool in the brown ric (and obviously I saved them) so threw them on the white one to tune down to drop c for machete. The neck is slightly weaker on the white ric so the added tension of the Rotos and the low tuning keep the neck where it needs to be. Thanks on the ibanez, it's a beast. And putting a EGC neck on the sekova would be like putting lipstick on a pig.
The pickup in my Peavey is worth more than the bass is. Same with the bridge. I give no shags. It's now the bass I want it to be. Well, almost. I need a Rickenbacker toaster neck pickup now and some different wiring. But it's basically there.
I've seen them twice. If they do another year end bay area show like they have the last two years, I'll probably see them again. Always worth it. Last time they opened with Locust Star, and closed with Stones from the Sky.
I would love to fix it, but it's a Digitech pedal and the part is on the PCB.

That would be awesome. I've always loved the dia de los muertos skull face paint. My best friend wore it once. Honestly I thought she looked super hot wearing it, but I'm weird.
They are pretty cool. I prefer the D-180 due to its "nasty overdrive at any volume" ability, but the 400 is a great amp.
That's less than I paid for my D-180, actually. I don't have money, but even if I did, it's all the way back east in Chicago.
Yes, I do still have my D-180. It's actually my only bass amp. I use it with both the folk/rock band, and Catapult the Dead. It's also on that album by Fathomless that I posted a while back.
And I think it would do well through your Dually. It really excels with an efficient cab. I use mine with a Sunn 2000S cab with EV 15B drivers in it.
Are you looking at one with the graphic EQ or without? I'd recommend getting the one with the graphic, even if you don't think you'll need it. I have mine set with the two middle sliders boosted all the way, the next ones out boosted halfway, and the outer two left flat. I know this is the opposite of what you're supposed to do with EQ, but I love the midrange gank it adds... as well as increasing the nasty overdrive. Not sure why it does the latter, but I like it.
Speaking of overdrive, the D-180 is why I don't need an external pedal for just my basic overdrive sound. You can set the master knob at 10 for clean, but I never do that, because shag clean. I use the volume knob on my bass if I want a cleaner sound (or, on my Rickenbacker, I just switch to the neck pickup).
The main drawbacks are that, well, it's a sub-200 watt amp, so it does have its limits. I haven't hit those limits yet, even at the show outside in the desert, but I have no idea what your usual volume is like, and also, because of the weird current-limiter master setup I guess, basically all the volume is between 7.5 and 9.5. A tiny tweak in this area does a ton. I've been thinking of asking Mesa if there's a way to change this and still have it function as designed. Also, the reason I recommend getting the graphic EQ version is that it has the next-to-useless Fender tone stack. It's also rackmount, which is annoying. But that's basically all my complaints about it, and the first one, its relatively low power, isn't really a complaint, as I don't seem to actually need more.
Something was wrong with it, then. Mine doesn't blow fuses. I've had to change out the tubes once, but those were the tubes I got it with and they weren't new at the time (though not super worn out yet). Mine has been pretty rugged so far, performing excellently even on the desert trip.
The 400 doesn't get dirty enough by itself, for me.
Nah, a broken D-180 is a bad choice.
One in working condition is one of the greatest amps ever made, in my opinion. But then, my opinion is biased.
Drop the oil. Pull the plugs. Blast each cylinder with WD 40...Crank the motor over. Fill with oil again, new plugs, crank it over again. Change oil again after running it for a while.
3.5x4.5" Not Small. Going to drop it on the board in a few min and check it out.

Satori, the D-180 he had definitely had something wrong with it, but it did work and sound like it should for about 2 hours.
It was just way dirtier sounding than I thought, I was expecting some more overdriven grind, but it was more fuzzy distortion to my ears.

Hard to argue against the classic.
I just had a meeting with my behringer rep, asked a few questions about their svt clone. It activates my cheap-ass spidey senses but i doubt I'll ever pull the trigger on one. I'd rather just spend a couple extra hundred on something better. Some day I'll have a tube amp, not today, but someday.

Huh. That's weird... as mine isn't fuzzy really, at least not at high volumes. "Grind" is actually the best description I can think of for how it sounds. Lots of gank, not much fizz. I wish there was a live video of Catapult, as I think it's easier to hear me at our shows than on the album. It's overdriven, but it's a very "dry" sounding overdrive, nothing like a fuzz pedal. Like you can still hear the clangy-ness of my bass, which isn't the case for me with more fuzzy distortions.
I mean, all D-180s at this point are probably 30 years old or more, so there's certainly been plenty of time for people to shag them up.
I prefer single.
Unless you mean two d-180s. That would be cool.
