Great song title suggestions . Might be a good excuse to finally use my 3 string octave bass for a band. One bass rig, one guitar rig, a bunch of dirt pedals.

One of my uber-hippy friend's, her sister was engaged to Dave Matthews before he got famous. 2009 Specialized Allez sport acquired for $360. So excited it weighs like nothing and Is deadly silent and fast as hell.

I've been wanting a bike. But it has to be way beefier than that twig. I would need big tires and stout rims too, I'm going to ride that thing like I'm 12. Popping curbs, riding in dirt, gravel, over potholes. That and I'm fat.
So basically a mix between road and mountain. Or something.

Never will understand you single speed guys. I mean, I guess I get the simplicity of teh setup, but if you live anywhere near a hill...

There are some pretty great "urban", or hybrid bikes out there that are either road style bikes with beefier hardware, or mountain bikes with slimmer tires. I built my hardtail with a wheel/tire combo that's meant for going fast, but still can handle a bit o' dirt.

Yeah, I need to do some research again. I remember Salsa and Surly had some cool stuff. But that was a bit pricey.
I should probably buy a cheap mountain bike to destroy in the mean time. But I probably won't do that.

I wish I could bike to work (it's not very far) but I'm fully convinced I'd be hit by a car within a month. People drive like idiots here. Plus I'd be drenched in sweat showing up to work because I sweat a lot haha.

I rode my friends rough the last few days all over it's a solid piece and quiet and light as hell.

Oh it has gears, the breaks shift if you push them in other directions.

I'd never get a fixed gear thing.

That said I'm pretty bad about leaving it in the stiffest gear (terminology?) and just endure the hills and everything else. I do got calves and thighs like a beast so that helps.

Yea dude same, maybe it's a Nordic thing. Also it's like 100+ degrees here. But regardless I get hot easy.

Are you in a downtown area? We had just planned to take our bikes to dallas and bar crawl... Maybe drunken riding in one of the countries biggest cities that I've never really visited is not as safe a plan as expected.

I have a road bike in storage, and rode a fixed gear for a couple years. blah blah hipster whatever, it was great exercise and really gives you better control over the bike as a whole. When I worked as a merchandiser for an ice cream company for a few years I would ride between my stops as long as it wasn't raining (being wet in freezers leads to no good). I miss it, my wife won't ride a bike in the city so I rarely ride anymore as it's not convenient for getting places if she isn't getting there the same way , and I work in an office where I can't show up looking like a mess every day.
