Retro appears to have all concentric pots. I'll crack it open tonight.

I have some Wizard Pickups out of UK for a jazz somewhere. Bought them like 5yrs ago that I put in my redneck/ratrod parts jazz.
Just looked up to see which ones and he's closed down. I'll keep them for now. haha.
I should pick up a body and put one together. I have tons of parts spread out.

i've been listening to a couple of demos and it seems to thicken up the low end quite a bit. i'm attempting to divorce the bass and the treble from each other on my ric-o-sound setup so i feel like it would work out well.

i had a chat with Alex @ Avedissian as well and he says, dimensions willing, that he would be able to re-wind it and replace the magnets to soup it up a little.

Huh. I never really found my Rickenbacker's pickups lacking for low end, especially not the neck one.

If you own a 4001 don't hack up the old pickup. Take it out and save it and get your hands in a newer ric style pickup. The have more output and low end.

I've been really enjoying Purson recently, pretty stoked for the new album. Not really stoner or doom, but really like heavy psych and the keyboards/mellotron really add some cool textures. And along with singing she plays the guitar as well (I think lead actually). And hey, gotta say, I like the look, you know what you're getting into.

I don't usually like the retro stuff very much, but they're kinda cool.

Yeah, I've been off face book and been lurking TB. A dude spent $175 on a custom tort guard, and didn't want to pay a restock fee, since he didn't like it, and wanted to return it. Some people came to defend the consumer. I dealt with people like this at my last job, so no sympathy from me. I sided with the one man business. His disclaimer clearly represents his policy on returns. People still want to bash the business, even though they have not looked at the content of the website. It's just a gang up on this dude. And, the OP made a **** ton of posts on other forums to attempt to strong arm the owner into going against his return policy. It's just people trying to screw each other... I hate it.

Mediocre blues/rock that trails in and out of tempo. In between each song should be a 20-30 sec of tone tweaking that includes a famous lick being played wrong.

Through combo amps. Very small, but very expensive combo amps.

Stock car systems blow huge balls. I use bluetooth with my phone/car stereo and have no low-end probs. BT is definitely ok for streaming music. Maybe not FLAC, or lossless formats, but definitely OK for mp3's and such.

Eh, the stereo systems on my family's Fords have been good. The '95 t-bird sounded great, and the 2007 Fusion sounded better.

The Scion I sometimes use to haul gear, though... ye gods, that thing sounds shaging awful. My grandparents' Plymouth sounded like poopie, too.

Never will understand you single speed guys. I mean, I guess I get the simplicity of teh setup, but if you live anywhere near a hill...



There are some pretty great "urban", or hybrid bikes out there that are either road style bikes with beefier hardware, or mountain bikes with slimmer tires. I built my hardtail with a wheel/tire combo that's meant for going fast, but still can handle a bit o' dirt.

Looked like it had gears, to me.

I also won't ever own a bike without gears. Those are for people who live in flat places where the horizon is really far off. I don't live in a place like that.

Morning fellas. Took a half day yesterday to wait for the internet guy to come over and do his thing. So we're wired up at the new place - woohoo!

Still got a bit of moving and cleaning to do - it's dragging on and on. Haven't touched my bass in over a month.

Also - immediately after the moving is done I'm starting school again. Liberal Arts transfer program at the local tech college. Two years to get my gen ed stuff out of the way, then on to the UW for a Business/Technical Communications degree. That's the plan anyway, I've got two years to really decide what the focus will be. We'll see how it goes.
