No pedals I can recommend unfortunately, but my own experience with the Boss RC-2 was pretty poor. Works well for layering when it's something rhythmic, but for ambient/noise I found it really difficult to keep track of the start/end of the loop, so would end up with some layers cutting in and out. I tried counting using the metronome LEDs, but it was a bit of a struggle to keep track of.

On the other hand, if you're just wanting a single layer of noise (or want to play back pre-recorded loops), it's decent enough.

I have the Digitech Xpress XT. It is MXR pedal shaped and a simple set up but I couldn't imagine using one live. I have a hard enough time setting loops at home. I am going to sell it and try out an Akai Headrush seems like bands that loop like that unit.

Most amp builders do stuff for guitar. Then kinda bassify it "enough"(Verellen, Hovercraft,etc). JGR is building application specific equipment and the application is bass.
Jule started with bass equipment made from a guitarist perspective. But that dude has listened and really improved his Monique based largely off feedback here on Talkbass, which is mighty cool.
Both those dude get copious respect from me.

Whew! Finished my local half marathon this morning. Very toasty. Time to crash.

In gear news, I picked up a cheapy Chunk Systems Brown Dog, anyone have any experience with that one? Seems pretty cool; reminds me of my Fuzzrocious Ram the Manparts only with some more options.

Perhaps the bassman circuit is so cloned and simple (relatively) it's easy to make custom heads from it.

Also there's all older dudes playing music who have a cash surplus to buy expensive versions of vintage amps.

I think it is more that guitards piss and moan over imagined tone. Their amplification is full of superstition, and mysticism.

I thought we was talking bass amps. But hey there's a lot of bass players who have that mentality too.

Real tort for better midrange, nitro finish for that more open tone, because the grain isn't choked and allowed to resonate better!

Ah, see when I see "bassman" I think guitar amp. And yeah there are a lot of bassist with that mentality.

So I'm really trying to decide if I should get these, they're a good deal basically 2 for the price of 1. And turn my peavey 412 into a 212+115 because I have a spare Emi Delta 15 sitting around. Because 218s aren't going to fit in that cab. But my thing is all of the speakers would be 8 ohms, so the cab would end up a 5-6ish ohm cab. And unless I did some tricky wiring with parallel or series out, it would make using this cab with another hard.
