Yeah, those dudes and Dunwich I really like for branching off and doing something different.
Probably true.
A lot of boutique builders are mainly guitar-oriented, and so their bass amps are really just "up-gunned" versions of that. And yeah, the Fender EQ and its variations are way, way more simple than anything active.
I just don't think it's all that well suited for bass. Sometimes good sounding, yeah, but not as versatile as James/Bax EQ variations. In my opinion, obviously. I guess it's just if I was paying custom dollar, I don't want something that's just a fancy Marshall or fancy Fender.
I really like that Dunwich seems to like doing Ampeg/ORMAT-influenced designs. It's different, and in my opinion, better for bass.
I actually prefer mine on. Nice handrest/thumbrest. My old Ibanez copy didn't have one, so I actually bought a cover to put on, lol.

Put those super cheap mcm 12s I've had sitting around in the peavey 412. Sounds meh, better than the fatry CTS speakers though. Tried throwing it into the mix of the full rig, sounded good paired with the folded 18 powered by the Vulcan. Which I totally need like a ten foot 3 din pin extender so the footswitch can be farther than 4 feet away.

That thing needs an xlr/di out and I'd be all over it.
I'll see if i can find one of those cables when I'm at work tomorrow. If anyone still makes one, we should be able to get it.

SWEET! That cord has limited me from running some awesome looking stacks because the foot switch wouldnt touch the ground.

i'm hoping my father the aircraft inspector with a background in aeronautics will start making pedals in december when he retires, of course he's pretty stubborn, i asked him to start making pedals with me in the 90s and he said no he's too busy, funny thing was my only friend who was motivated enough to get it going was the earthquaker dude
It's a french guy who's making them. I met him on another bass forum. I don't know if he'd be ok with sending them abroad but I can ask if you're interested !
