I used the Etys before and thought they were quite good. In the spring I went to Costco and got some custom molded earplugs. Well worth the money in my opinion.
Nothing is wrong, one of my 70s PA 18s that will go in the 218 is in there.
But I think I either recone the original BW or get a new one.

I did. No phone/internet at home for the weekend sucked. I was using a wave here and there, but I dont like radio silence.
So I've been having intermittent internet issues since we got hooked up at the new place. Googled the name of my ISP + "customer service" and dialed the first number that came up. Indian scam artists posing as tech support told me that all of my info was compromised and i needed to spend $250 immediately to fix the problem. That was ********.
Found the right number, called my ISP - "dude your router is really old and we've upgraded our service. We'll give you a new router for free, your speed will increase and your monthly bill will go down".
So I'm sitting on the porch having breakfast and coffee, waiting for the tech to show up.

Pretty sure that's the same JMP my guitarist Geoff in Billows had. That amp was one of the best amps I've ever heard. Too bad both the trannies died

I record practice clips with this Zoom H2 that I got used locally. Seems like every time our singer really belts it out, there is static in the track. Mic isn't clipping, just seems like those certain vocal frequencies cause the mic to distort. Think I might just have to man up and buy a new H2N or something cause this is driving me nuts.
Also: i use Etymotic ear plugs.

That's a rough transition. I did a similar shift for a while, it was nice getting done early in the afternoon, but i was constantly tired and hungry.

Ah, that's pretty slick. I think mine has a pharmacy now that I think about it. Not sure about the hearing center. My uncle-in-law is an ENT so I just had his place do mine.
What are the benefits to going with something more expensive? I really just need something to capture good room recordings of our songs at practice. If I was going to invest more money I'd rather have mics and an interface to do individual tracking.

The mics are higher quality, it has extra XLR inputs and can record up to four tracks simultaneously. The h5 and h6 also have the interchangeable microphones, which might not be of much use for recording band practice, but it's a cool feature.
Additionally you'll get features like the ability to record a simultaneous safety track that has a -10dB pad applied, pre-record safety that will allow you to get 10 seconds of recording from before the time that you hit the record button. Also, onboard hpf, compression and limiting, tuner, metronome, variable speed and pitch control, etc.
