Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Those hounds are adorable.
This past weekend I jammed with a local drummer, who was into doing some heavy, groovy stoner/doom stuff. He said he would start going through some of his contacts looking for a guitarist and he also asked if I would be into the idea of trying out really distorted synth in place of or along with guitar. I told him I'd give it a shot and see if it sounds cool, I could see that being pretty neat with the right approach.
Also recorded a new Mental Waste track for a compilation this weekend. We used the dirt cheap pedals I bought recently to get all the tones, just for fun. DOD Death Metal on guitar, Boss ODB-3 on bass (with my SBMM Ray34CA), both sounded pretty killer for the tune we did.

I would totally sell everything buy a Rhodes and come play in your band. Something about a Rhodes through a bluebeard through a peavey stack makes me happy
No one in my department really knows what I do in detail. They all rely on me for things, and are lost when I take a day off, but they dont know the "ins and outs". The nice thing about that is I can set my schedule for the most part. I usually start the day at work between 6:30 and 7:00 depending, and work 8 hours, no breaks. Means around 2:30 or so I am ready to leave, and if I have to stay, it is OT.
I wasn't really big into the Beatles as a kid. I liked a few songs. I've listened to all their albums at least once or twice.
I put this album on at work Saturday.
I guess all the planets were aligned. I was in the right mood and it was the perfect album. One of those times where you're totally feeling every moment of the album. I love it when that happens.

The only real options are how strong of a filter you want. I think the standard choices at -7 dB, -15 dB, and -30dB. I went with the -15dB and it's probably the best choice for a loud rock musician.
I may have to go get some new plugs. I have -15 and -30, but really need something in the -20 to -25 range for practice. -15 for most shows is just about perfect.

That's like the bottom rung model with the super cheap Electra style parts. Shame shame. If it was around $300 I would snag it and put some crazy pickups in you can't get away with in normal rics's
