Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I TAKE BACK EVERYTHING IVE RANTED ABOUT EVER!!! He got it working and its the thing he's been missing this whole time. Peavey Standard in the Supernova shell. The oil delay and rotationg sound aren't hooked/up yet.

And I put some old peavey metal knobs on the Windsor...bling bling. Now I just need a metal Peavey logo.

Thanks you!!!! I keep having this argument with people. Mids sound BAD when too loud. Any time you hear a good bass tone the mids have been massaged.
shag that. I don't play bass in a doom metal band to sound "good." I don't play bass in a doom metal band for people to like it. I do it to be shaging obnoxious. The only downside is that my mid-heavy tone gets less obnoxious when the guitars are playing.

More seriously, I think we have a very different idea of what sounds "bad." With thick guitars going on at the same time, I actually think I've finally gotten my tone somewhere in the ballpark of Geezer's on "Master of Reality." Obviously my playing is comparatively poopie, but tonewise I think it's actually pretty damn good.

Well I'm emotionally distraught...guitarist has been kick of let's take this perfectly good sounding and working SS Peavey, that I would love and give a good home and chop it up and put it in this broken supernova amp chassis and hope it works. Hes destroyed two already, including my first one, that tan Standard, that I gave to him on permanent loan. The one that we haven't been able to replace tone wise with any amp. And is/was a vital building block in VEGAs sound, and were recording in a couple weeks.

And he's been having tone happiness issues, but he's not letting things sink in tone wise, he's just "does this sound bad?" Then when we tell him it sounds fine he throws it out the moving car window, then picks up another road kill half mile down the road. And Repeat.

Put it this way, things have changed not musically, thank the DOOM Gods, but band relationship wise. I knew they would after what has all happened, but not like this, im getting tired of walking around on eggshells, and having to conform to his I can't drive and live 40mins away schedule.

But the music is still worth it and if I don't end up holding a vinyl with the name VEGA on it, it was all for not. I've put way to much into this to walk away with nothing.

Vent over, time to riff.
Why would you let him touch another one after he'd already destroyed one?

Edit: nvm, glad it worked out.

The dingwall has landed.

Cool bass. Not my kind of thing, but still cool.

Perfect time for stopping trees for a bit... I wasn't sure if I should bother, then tried running Thursday (been a bit) and it had just rained, got probably a mile out and was in lung based agony, and came home and now I have some kind of hacky, stuffy cold/infection and can't use trees anyways.

I biked and walked a combined probably 20+ miles yesterday so I'm not sure if that helped. I feel further into my symptoms, like they've finally settled so they might pack up and leave soon too.

Blasphemer!
The only solution for a lung infection is to power through.

I did that last time lol. I think it's time I took a break, I think it's the tobacco I mix in that's the cause of most of the issues with breathing and the fact as soon as I tossed the tobacco I immediately lost a lot of urge to touch trees, so I'll just clean out then see what's up after the semester ends or so.

I never like to mix anything with herb, every try (besides special k) made me feel like I capture black lung. Now, a nice menthol afterwards is different but im rambling now.
