Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Nobody much likes the change in format. Besides that pretty much business as usual.
Nick posted some sweet pictures of have built tube porn. Ron listed some new material for sale and sold out before the ink got dry.
Corey has been doing kick ass demo riffs.
Really just more of what makes this place kick ass.
Although somebody owes Laz some grief. I think his last few purchases worked out well...

Nice! I've been around, but on ilovefuzz. So I've caught a couple of the awesome things Corey/Nick have been up to.

Not much to report here. I dropped the Sunn Concert Bass for a Plush 1060s. So I'm running that into a Sunn 215 and the Peavey CL400 into the Ampeg 810. ALL T00BZ, maaan. Infinite Flux is doing pretty good. We've been working on some new tunes. You should come out to the new Frontier next Saturday. We're opening a killer show with Hobosexual, Ancient Warlocks and Mos Generator.

Damn we just can't seem to get out schedules worked out can we.
I'm supposed to see some folks I grew up with okay that night here in Bremerton. If anything happens though I'll come. You guys rock can't wait to hear your new stuff.

I'm trying to write new stuff myself. Been working on a song this week, but I'm a little stuck on the drums. I need a real drummer, someone who can actually be creative and come up with something that plays off the riffs.

I have no idea how to build drum tracks.

My drum programming capability is about on par with my creative capability on drums. Way better than my physical capability, since I'm years out of regular practice now. So I can power through most stuff, but now I'm writing something that really calls for some drums that are informed by the riffs and so I just have one basic beat running through the whole thing, with some fills. I can nail down straight forward rock stuff and steady beats no problem, but now that I'm working on some actual slower stuff, I want drums that are going to be kind of sporadic and fill up the space between the riffs. I'm hoping if I let it sink in a little bit and then tinker, I'll get some inspiration.

I need a real drummer.

Next time I'm in the bay area, I want to make a point to come and jam with you on drums. :D
