Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I think I might get a Joyo American Sound.

You using that for your guitar setup or bass?

Lucky I just got all charges dropped from my apartment. Woohoo that's $130 I don't need to spend. Picnic table here I come. Just got a coffee pot for the first time ever so I can chill on the porch and get all sorts of caffeine in me.

Since it was just announced I can share here.

Bongripper will be returning to roadburn in 2015. 2 sets, one where we play Miserable in its entirety.

I can't even express how stoked I am about this. Greatest fest in the world.
shag yeah, dude.

I'd love to even just go to Roadburn, playing there would be kind of a dream.

Bass. I'm on the fence, though. Every time I try an amp sim pedal I end up not liking it. I think I'm just bored.

Ah I've been trying to setup a better guitar rig without selling my current amp unless it's a partial trade or after I get the new setup.

Current plan is get some peavey 4x10 columns and a head then I can do guitar duty or cheap pa duty. Just narrowed my options as I guess the rockmaster I've been eyeing sold after months of stagnant sitting.

The other amp I found is a series 400 SS for really cheap. Problem is I don't think the dude can use email. I've sent him 10-15 emails with no reply. Weirdly he renews his post every 48 hours? Just made a ad saying "HEY!! (ad title)!!" Hopefully it gets his attention.

Well, if you used something like the American Sound to bypass the preamp on one of your bass amps you'd have a good guitar amp.

I did just buy Ron's preamp so you might have a point

But I like having a dedicated guitar setup for visitors who jam. Also need mics soon too so I can learn to record properly and the vocal PA thing.

Learning reverb too, need to make my store look more real. And work it harder. I'm still hesitant to sell instruments and heavy amps on it. Been pedals, rack gear and stuff so far. Anyone here invest in bumps or find a loophole?

Edit: Though that preamp and power amp setup would let me run the Ormat side as a guitar part while I run the SVT side with a bass I just realized!

I kinda hate you for buying that pre... Want one so bad.

I've been wanting to leave my 810 at the practice space for the doomy band I just got in a while back so I've been looking at combo amps and small cabs for a home/practice rig. I pulled the trigger on this today.

Only set me back $200. Marshall JCM 800 412 bass cab. Still had all the original Celeston Sidewinder speakers. Sound really good, handles A# tuning well, and moves some serious air. I'm still trying to date it but I think its 80's...

I'm incredibly envious, but at the same time, I'm glad the Mostly Harmless pre is staying within the circle of people who post on this thread.
