I feel like the OG MI settlers had some pretty austere living quarters. I do not envy them one bit. Though they had that small victory of a shovel full of snow from right outside in the pot makes coffee.

I feel like the OG MI settlers had some pretty austere living quarters. I do not envy them one bit. Though they had that small victory of a shovel full of snow from right outside in the pot makes coffee.
It is in brand new condition about an hour and a half away. The Aggy is 2 and a half hours away. Unfortunately the GCs in STL suck pretty bad and IF they still have GK in stock I would be incredibly surprised if they had a 412, or really anything other than a 410/115. The only cabs I can really try before I buy in my area are Acoustic, Markbass combos and maybe an 810e. Pretty piss poor selection new around these parts.
Honestly, the 412 is the best cab GK makes. It is a pretty loud cab, but everyones needs are different.
Pretty much every winter I wonder why the hell anyone would have settled in the northern half of the country 200 years ago. Then I remember that it was probably cold where they came from too. Still, I would have headed south.
My focus wagon can tow 1500lbs. I'm looking into lightweight covered trailers for cabs. Because my wagon pulling a trailer would still get better mpg than the untrustworthy van.

And there's a gk 412 on there too for $800 which seems steep but I don't know.
I'm liking the summer heat less and less as I get older - but not as much as I dislike 0 and below temperatures. I can handle anything else. I don't get outside as much as I'd like to in the winter, but I can cope with that. Now that my wife and I have an actual house to live in this winter will be much more tolerable. That tiny-ass apartment severely limited the amount of hobbies/activities that we could do to pass the time.
Only cab out of that list I would consider is the 218. Couldnt give me either of the other two.

Yea you shouldn't have worry about the actual van raping you. A pretty small trailer would do you well I bet, stack the cabs upright packed in maybe for maximum space use if the covered too is of a decent height.
I emailed the guy about that GK 412 and he came down to $600. I am leaning that direction currently. I am going to hopefully go try some GK cabs today before I drive 3 hours round trip. Also If it goes well I may try to grab that Acoustic cab as well. That would be in the same budget as the Aggy and I think a 412 + a 118 Might be the money shot.
I guess I would need to use the crossover of my 4 pro to run that? Or would it sound like poo in a stereo setup?
Goodie, was hoping you'd chime in. I just was looking at what he had going for him aside from the 810 and crate/acoustic stuff.
Also am I right you are trying to fit this in a car? As in you can't carry just anything?
No point to do that pairing. You will sacrifice power to use both cabs, and wont make it up with an increase in sensitivity.
No clue to any of that.
Personally if you were willing to grapple with an 810 size cab, I'd grab that 2x18 for $400, but haggle first, it's been up a few weeks and he's probably got a hard sell to anyone but you in the area.
Then sell off everything else, jam it and if you dig it cool, otherwise sell it off too and combined budget swing a better cab.
I drive an 08 Charger. I also have access to a pickup really anytime I need it. I am not SUPER concerned about being able to fit it in my vehicle, but if I could play a show with the 412 and fit it in my car AND be loud enough... well thats just a win/win/win. My band has 2 Acoustic 115 cabs that can be hauled by one of the other guys so I have that going as well. I just know those are kind of crappy cabs and would be concerned that turning the juice on the 4 pro up enough for the 412 would blow the 2 115s. IDK if crossover is the solution as I am in the dark with biamping.
Corey y didn't you own both a 410e and and 810e at same time? Also I still think you would be better off with ampeg 810. I think your stressing to hard since you gave yourself a deadline to have a cab buy your next show. How do you EQ your amp? And of you run dirt do you run them at unity or hotter then the clean signal?
Stressing myself is the truth! No need to do that I know, its just that playing a show and not being able to hear a single note I play is frustrating and difficult. I run my dirt slightly hotter than unity. I have the gain on the 4 pro dimed. My EQ has a the bass at noon, mid at #4 and 3 o clock, and treble at 2:30. The graphic is engaged with no boost at 33hz, a slight boost at 80 and 150hz and the peak of the frown is at 300 and 600hz with another slight bump at 5 khz. The deep switch is disengaged and the bright is engaged. These are my apartment settings. Haven't been able to use it with the guys yet.
I think that it looked like home. Whenever I visit PA in the winter and I see the dirty, gray, snow covered city, I instantly think this is Northeast PA but it sure looks like Russia to me.
Biamping is pointless, unless you have cabs suited for those bandwidths. The GK 412 will have more low end than those 115's anyways.
