That's what I was told. Of course with a nice cutting setup, I'm sure you could get good results. There are people cutting these things in their garage, they just cost a good amount of money. Spitfire anyone? lol at that thread.

Really dig the svt side, insta dialed in a killer tone, I went for a very clean thick tone, low mids and bass boosted and low switch engaged, treble cult.
That side will probably be used most. Through bassic and the dually when I use both sides. It'll also have the modulation effects on it.
Ormat needs to be played more, dirtier side and I'm picky about dirt setup. I planned this side to take all the potential dirt pedals save maybe the UD, or lpb-1.
Demeter test is tonight, it's most likely gonna stay a clean or oD tone, but who knows what it may sound good with.
All is played with fingers or nails I don't use a pick.

Haven't got to look it's in a bag and I'm not at home with my screw driver and stuff.
It needs a setup of sorts anyways so I guess this just reinforces the fact I need to crack it open and such. Also need a trem and bridge and switches to put my bass Vi back together.
And put my EB-0 back to stock and sell it, and the hi-flyer. Also mess with the Geddy jazz it's got weird volume and tone leaps in places with it's mystery wiring. Might post in TB land and check my responses. I'll say I play smooth jazz and just mention my Demeter as cover.
So i pop in to a small music store in town that i don't normally spend much time in, they pretty much only sell off brand stuff and its super cluttered which gives me the heebie jeebies. Anyway, they have a "Red Fox" brand Stingray HH knock-off with a natural finish and maple neck, which is my trademark colour scheme. So i go over, pick the thing up, it has to weigh at least 13lbs. But other than the weight, which really isn't a big deal for my fat ass it feels good. Nice neck, decent looking/feeling tuners, pretty good fit and finish, sounds good unplugged. Can't find a bass amp to play it through. $275, i figure i'd give it shot.
Get it home, plug it in. Sounds really nice, balances perfectly with my strap. I'm thinking i've landed a pretty good score. Start playing with the controls, and something seems hinky. Neck PUP is dead. Well, probably just a bad solder, its a cheap chinese knock off after. So i go to unplug it and the input jack pulls right out of the little plate deal. The nut on the inner side of the plate only had like 1/2 a thread to grab on to, so that was an easy fix. But i figured 2 shag ups within 10 minutes of getting the thing home was a bad sign.
Back to the store, tell the guy, who had just seen me less than an hour earlier, what had happened and that i want to return the bass. he tries to tell me they will fix it. I had to argue with the guy for 20 minutes before he refunds me for the bass. I don't think i'll be going back. Too bad, because i really want a Stingray, but don't want to pay even Ray35 prices.

Haha! Just show a pic of the Demeter and be like, my blues lawyer card... People will be tripping over each other to "solve" your issue just so later on they can use it for bragging purposes. Because one time, I helped solve this riddle of a wiring issue for this guy that owns a Demeter.
On bass I found the best tone was running the thing stereo into separate power amps and separate cabs. Mixing it acoustically sounded awesome
Yea my crown has two sides. I'd stack the bassic sideways on top of the dually. This Gets a speaker by my ear (or at least closer) and amp at eye levelish. Ormat raunchiness helps up there too.

I bet it can be saved. Just keep it in standard pitch and give it half turn at a time. Maybe tweak it a bit every other day to be safe. That jazz bass I just bought had a pretty good bow but I got it straight.

Agreed my best results were mixing the two preamps to different cabs

Thank you my Davenport Iowa brother (born and raised there myself), I will be patient and give it a shot.
Cool small world, yeah if it's turning easy I dont think your have any issues. Since it seems like you haven't tried it before slow is the way to go. Plus it lets the wood adjust better. Some time I'll get it straight and a day later it's back bowed. So just keep a close eye. Also don't be afraid of the first turn it will probably make a little noise.
So jelly you bought Ron's preamp Bryce...Super glad it stayed in the fam.
Also, more messing around with the 810 tonight AND I figured out why it didnt seem loud enough. The aftermarket wheels on it must be taller than the stock one were, making the cab face slightly downward. I'm 6 foot 2, so the speakers were pointing at my junk from where I normally stand. I randomly took a step back to check the sound and was like oh fvck! There it is. So I put a strip of wood or two under it to make it face straight ahead more. Sounds great running with my effects>Dunwich>Booster rig along with the 218+210. The 810 is that low mid pummeling while the 218+210 is the highs and sub lows. And apparently it might be the high control on my crossover that's crapping out, he ten works fine but when I turn the knob to bring in more highs it crackles and cuts out.
10x10 and 4x18s...

Yeah my neighbor just wanted a witness I guess and to not mess up his brothers house that he's been renting for 20+ years. Its weird I've learned more about him in the past 48 hrs than in the 4 yrs we've lived next to him. One of my neighbors bought me a bottle of nice scotch and a card that said thanks for being awesome. Really sweet of her. Me and the misses pretty much killed it yesterday night while talking about it. Anyhoo.
I'm still getting a feel for the darkest driving controls they're very different but I love the sounds I'm getting.
Thanks Ron I was pretty burned out by the time we were done recording (3am) but I think we got some good sounds. Gotta send it off for mix and master now.
As for 810s I've never thought a good one seemed weak. They deffinately have a niche sound though. Very different from 15s. And they are very directional. Personally I love the sound of a dirty bass tone through an 810. But a good 215 running a clean tone really fills the room.
