Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

I really need to make a logo or something for putting on those gear demos. Looking at my own sh*t eating grin

Thanks dude, I don't do anything special. I just plug in, twiddle a few knobs and record. I guess I have an ear for tone? Dunno, I feel like I do pretty much nothing and have a hard time passing on tips when people ask me how to make stuff sound good lol.

I really need to make a logo or something for putting on those gear demos. I can't stand looking at my own sh*t eating grin on those embedded players.

You should put a picture of Jack Black on there and never show yourself in the pedal review clips/ videos. Gearmandude would be all, that, that Motherclucker!!!

The weirdest thing about that same sex wedding gig thread, I don't know if anyone brought this up, is that the crux of the excuse for having an issue seems to be religious conflict. Concerns about supporting something that their religion is against or condemns. Do these guys who play in wedding bands vet every client for everything that conflicts with their religion? Do they ask what religion or denomination the people getting married are and object on that basis? I'm guessing most wedding receptions aren't held in a church with religious services going on, it's a party. Do they refuse to play parties that serve hard liquor? Do they never book gigs on Sundays? Do they refuse to play songs that have lyrics that portray premarital sex, divorce, not going to church on Sunday or some other such thing? My guess is no to all those things, because it's not about observing/defending/upholding their religious beliefs at all, but just about weird sexual confusion/fear, ignorance and bigotry.

This is the most intelligent thing I've read today and it's in an internet message board thread for the stoned and the doomed.

I am looking for a high gain pedal for guitar. I want it for doom and stoner tones, not 80s metal high gain tones, if that makes any sense. I figured you all might have a favorite that your guitarists' use. Thinking about the Dunwich DA120, the EQD Talons, and the Catlinbread SFT or 5F6. I dig those FET amp in a box pedals.

Scope out Abominable Electronics. They have rad stuff at prices that won't make your wallet take a poopie. They run lots of specials, too.

Think we got our stuff nailed down to hit the studio in a couple of months for the vinyl split I'm still not allowed to talk about haha. Just gotta fill one side of a 12", so we've got three 7 minute songs.

I'm psyched to hear your new music man. Filaments is a killer album, it gets frequent plays while I'm driving. If it's a split with a really cool band, extra bonus.

I want the delux Hail Satan NOW... But have to wait or sell off some pedals. Really don't want to part with anything just yet. Have several in the wings.
The blend is what I really crave. Let alone being able to change circuits. I'm going to try to at least capture a phone video of the Unholy delay this weekend.

That was a crazy day.

Baby got sick last night, took him to the hospital at 11pm got home at 5:30am. Slept for an hour and then one of the craziest work days ever. The largest fraud attack I have seen in my 10 years and it was day 1 of rolling out our new credit card processing/servicing platform..

Back to work for 7am tomorrow and then I have back to back 16 hour days.

Good night.

I sympathize, we brought our son for his first round of vaccines yesterday. He was a screeching anger monkey the rest of the day. Luckily he was back to his base level of crankiness today.
