Is there a reason for the dummy coil over just putting the plastic cover in the hole? Or a real pickup just in case you decide one day to use it, the magnetic pull of the broken pickups there anyways (if hat actually effects anything Idk?).

No dummy coil I'm just filling the hole with a dead jazz pickup. The winding is broke on the J. Ill prolly take it off and it will just be cover and pole pieces. I'll remove the magnets too. I sort of wish I never cut the jazz route but I liked different things then. Might try to stick the magnets on the neck pickup if my white Ric when I get It back. Ill snap a pick of the jazz pup before I install it.

My Dunwich DI from Ron arrived today. Wow I forget what clean tone means. Sounds great with a power amp and a couple of 18s. Lots of smooth massive bass and takes pedals like a champ. Just wished more of my pedals were working...or I had more pedals. Though I really don't know how I'd incorporate it into my live rig, but its going to be awesome for recording.

I own dunwich, yipee I'm finally one of the cool kids...

When you play venues, use that "through out" and route the dunwich to the PA for massive low end while sending the unaffected signal to your normal rig.

Is the "through out" the T jack?

All that output is not affected by the preamp at all?

Yeah that should be the one. The 1/4" near the xlr is the same effected output as the xlr is sending.

Hey Ron, might as well ask here. Did you combine the Dunwich DI with an amp speaker setup to record the new album, or was it just DI?

It was combined with the dunwich mostly harmless with carvin dcm3800l and dually mic'd up.

I've noticed some other threads keeping on with the 1000 posts rule. Been wondering if we'd see a mod step in here.

People always complain pj's are uneven in volume, maybe the active pre helps them sound more level?...

I think so. I played an active pj jaguar that sounded nice. But didn't try it with any dirt. The pj SX I owned (not saying much), was a p bass for me. I never got a tone from the j that I liked. I should have kept that one...

Hey Ron, since you used the sunn 1200 into bergs, like me, how would you describe the difference using a dually?....other than you can drown out all of beebass's amps with one lil ol' cab.

I can't really give an accurate review as of yet. I'm still experimenting with my setup and haven't had a chance to really dive super deep into everything yet. Aka still tweaking before everything is exactly how I want it.

I can say 100 watt tube amp with the dually sounds really awesome. I've been finding I like how the dually sounds more with the lower watt tube power section that I do with the high powered SS amp.
